“Beware of Additional Charges”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2009

I've stayed at the Red Roof Inn's before and this one is NOT of the same quality. Charged an extra $ 240 for additional pet which was charged without authorization. No notice of additional charge was given on check in or by any material at the desk. Pets were declared on reservation, on the telephone when I added additional night and on check in. This charge was refunded via Corporate Red Roof. Room was not cleaned on two of four nights stay. Garbage was not removed when room was cleaned on one of the nights. Room needs remodeling and carpeting needs cleaning attention. When a friend went to the room that she was given she found the door open and a large fan drying out the carpet from an air conditioner leak. She was given a different room. The most negative experience was being yelled at by the manager at the front desk. I was surprised and taken aback by the behavior. Service Excellence is not practiced at this Red Roof.

I reserved a King Bed for my wife and I and were sent to (3) different rooms, all with double beds. We had to sleep separately for the night.
All of the pillow cases were too small and did not cover the pillows. One of our pillows had a pubic hair stuck in the fabric!! I had to sleep with a t-shirt wrapped around it.
In addition, staff was rude and not helpful.

  • Disliked — The rude staff and the fact that the room was not clean and unsanitary.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast included some hot items (belgian waffles). Pool wasn't available (cover was on it; closed for season?). We were concerned with truck noise from busy route 30, so the front desk folks graciously moved us further away from the road - no problems, no questions. check in/out went smooth. bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. we didn't see a lot of staff around, but those we did see were friendly. would consider staying there again, but probably would stay somewhere off of route 30 (very busy road - main truck route from Philly).

  • Liked — cleanliness, convenience to everything
  • Disliked — road noise

We stayed for three nights.
Property was well maintained and very clean. Room was a decent size and everything was in perfect working order.
Desk clerks were very nice.
We have stayed in many hotels and this was the first one that we did not have to contact the front desk about anything!
The expanded continental breakfast was great. There were probably 8 flavors of coffee.
Needs an indoor pool. The outdoor pool is heated and looked
immaculate.
This was a great hotel for reasonable price.

I just got back from this hotel (we stayed on Aug. 31) and thought it was a great value for the money. We were 2 adults and 2 kids. I booked our room on the hotel website and was pleasantly pleased with the price.

The room was small but clean, and we had 2 double beds and a fridge and microwave. The air conditioning worked well. I would recommend staying away from the back of the hotel on the side where the pool is (you will see big dumpsters in the parking lot) because at 2 AM I woke up to the sound of giant garbage trucks taking away garbage. Otherwise, the night was fine. I did take another reviewer's recommendation and request a room on the second floor facing away from the highway and not near the elevator. However, I would request the first floor for ease of carrying luggage (our room was far from the elevator and it was quicker (but more annoying) to carry it up the stairs.

Pool - it was small but suited our needs perfectly. The water looked clean and my kids had a great time.

Breakfast - My husband went by himself to get us all breakfast and they gave him a tray and a whole thermos of milk to bring back to the room. There was more than enough food. He did make sure to get there relatively early, around 7:30.

All in all, I was happy I chose this hotel and would go back there.

  • Liked — Price, location, pool, breakfast.
  • Disliked — Outside hallways.
