“Not bad.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

Stayed here for a night in March when I came up to Lancaster for a concert. Hotel was clean, staff was nice and friendly, was close to all the attractions I needed it to be close to, and best of all it was cheap! I would definitely stay here again. Only negative was it was hard making a left out of their parking lot, but that's not really a big deal.

PROS: hotel seemed clean... front desk staff were friendly... breakfast was good... price was better than most places in area... hotel is very close to many attractions, restaurants, and shopping.

CONS: only one front desk person checking in a bus full of people (we were not part of the bus and had to wait a very long time)... same thing happened at breakfast (so many people in a small room there was no place to set and we had to wait a very long time to eat)... pool was too cold (in August) for my kids to swim... advertised inside hallways but only one floor was inside and all others were outside... elevator was in an outside hall... this hotel allows pets so if you have allergies you must request a pet-free room ahead of time (luckily there was one available for us, since we did not know this ahead of time).

Room Tip: Things we did not know in advance -- Must request a pet-free room (if allergies are a concern). Must...

went to check in around 1:30 p.m. very few cars in lot. I asked woman at counter if she had a room available, she said she had 1 or 2 bedrooms starting at 79.99. I pulled out a travelers coupon, and she stated that those rooms were already taken, so I proceeded to leave and she said as I was leaving "Good Luck". I am glad I left, as I found a hotel that did honor the coupon. Woman at desk was very rude.

My family did a last minute trip from NJ to Lancaster. We did not have a hotel reservation so we just took a chance. We stopped into the Red Roof at about 9:30am and asked if they had an available room for 5 people for one night. They did and it was only $89 for the night. It was clean, pet friendly, quiet and the staff was very helpful. The outdoor pool was a bit cold but otherwise the stay was pleasurable. The free continental breakfast in the morning should really be extended beyond 9am though. The clerk at the front desk, Michelle, was very friendly and helpful.

My family (2 kids under 10) and I only had a few days in Lancaster but didn't want to spend a lot on a five star place. The Red Roof Inn proved to be exactly want we wanted. The few staff members we spoke to offered helpful advice. The hotel has a homely but professional feel. Lots of older travellers around the place added to the friendly atmosphere.

Room Tip: The Plain N Fancy restaurant (as seen in Man vs Food) is worth a visit if you have young kids.

We just returned from our family vacation from Lancaster. We stayed here for four nights. It is close to everything in driving distance. The room was small, and the beds were double but they were also kind of small they would not fit two people in so well, kind of cramped. they had a pool which we took advantage of, The front desk man was very helpful he helped us get a room and stay an extra night. and we had a problem where we needed something printed from the computer and he helped us out. It was a little noisy seem to be able to hear everything from the highway and in the next rooms. ( we went out and bought a fan to help with the noise) we was on the third floor the beds were comfortable to sleep in but just small. we liked the area and the price!

Nothing too exciting about this property. Difficult to get into and out with traffic in the area. The breakfast was nothing to write home about. Desk personnel were courteous and prompt. The rooms were plain and beds not that comfortable. Location was good for access to the attractions. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Stairs and room locations could be confusing. Probably would not stay here again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room away from the front. Very busy highway.
