“Good and Not-so-good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

The room was comfortable and nice; however, when we walked out on the balcony, the age of the hotel really showed. The ceilings were cracked and falling. The indoor pool was wonderful! Great for swimming laps; the outdoor pool had bird droppings in it. The breakfast was poor...overall, it was a fair stay...not worth $82 but sufficient for a one-night stay.

What can I say, my stay wasn't great but it wasn't pleasant either
The lobby was semi decent and the staff tried their best but this outdated, poor looking establishment needs some seriously cleaning and renovations
Picking to stay here was a easy choice due to the convenience of the location and 81 a night stay. When a hotel cost 81 a night with tax you should really think twice and understand what you are reserving
Booking two rooms, one king and another with two "queen: beds that turned out to be smaller than full size beds were the first issue. The hallways were old and dingy and the elevator felt like a fright fest ride. The rooms were spacious but VERY outdated
The bathroom that had two beds in it, the bathroom was SO filthy that we needed to go buy bleach and pour a bottle of bleach and scrub with hot water for a decent shower
My cousin staying in that same room got a RSH from just the sheets and spent then night covered in head to toe to not touch anything else
My king room was less of a fiasco just completely outdated, dingy looking and old
The outdoor pool was completely covered in green water and t indoor pool was so HOT and humid that you could barely spend anytime in it

If you’re looking to take a hot shower and sleep you to spend the extra $20 and go else

Like a said, not a great stay but not a pleasant one either

You can tell this was a REALLY nice hotel. . .about 35-40 years ago. Not anymore. The place is falling into complete disrepair - I have never seen so many "Out of Order" signs in one place before. Starting with the visual appearance outside when you pull in, you can't help but notice all the weeds and unappealing landscaping. Then you have an outdated lobby and the immediate faint smell of disinfectant. The one immediately notices the worn, dirty carpeting. On the way to the room we passed through a game room with billiard tables and some arcade type games, but half of the things in there, including the coin changer, had out of order signs. We passed the indoor pool which was really murky looking - not something I would have wanted to get into. We passed a fitness room, which had an out of order sign on it. The hallway on the floor we stayed was stiflingly hot, as was the room when we first entered. The air conditioning, once turned on, did a good job of cooling the room down, but I couldn't help but notice that the warmth there was likely partly due to housekeeping not turning off the floor warmer in the bathroom (which is turned on by a grimy, dusty wall attachment). The small room refrigerator is in desperate need of being defrosted - the door barely closes anymore because of all the caked on ice. The lamp shades are falling apart - the inner liner is completely brittle and cracking. The room looks like it used to have twice as much furniture - it was a very large room, but now only had two beds, a chair, a small side table and a dresser with the older TV on it. (I will say the mattress was fairly comfortable) The floor tiles in the bathroom were old and cracking. The wall mounted kleenex holder was rusty. The laminate bathroom counter needed updating/replacing, and had cigarette burn marks on it. The only thing in the bathroom that didn't look original to when the place was built was the newer tub surround and curved shower curtain bar. The carpet in the room didn't look recently vacuumed. We decided to go up to the bar and nightclub and listen to the live band playing, and while the drinks were a reasonable price they seemed small and mostly ice. The men and women's bathrooms for the bar and nightclub were out order, so if you didn't have a room I have no idea where you were supposed to go. Behind the place is tennis courts, and an outdoor pool which now serves as a mosquito breeding ground. Neither look like they've been serviced or usable for a long time - completely overgrown with grass and weeds. And the continental breakfast consists of coffee and a lot of bread (something I think might have been french toast, a pre-packaged bran muffin and corn muffin that was awful, and regular toast). There might have been some cheerios further down the counter. Really too bad. The location is excellent, but this place either needs a complete renovation or a bulldozing.

The staff is wonderful but the facility is awful. Advised them that our room had wallpaper pulling away from the wall with mold growing beneath it. The carpeting throughout is old, patched and stained. The bed linens did appear clean. Pay a little more and stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: Choose another facility!

This place looks like a poor, dirty and run down version of the Bates Motel. I would not book my worst enemy here. The lobby was frightening but not as scary as the room. There wasn't a thing in the room that wasn't stained. The sheets, the furniture, the rugs and even the lamp shades... The staff at the desk actually seemed nice and were genuinely apologetic for the conditions. I have no idea why Ramada would let tree name be attached to this hell hole! The only other positive is that is literally in walking distance to Dutch Wonderland.

We choose this location because it is right across from Dutch Wonderland. The reservation was screwed up and the building was in disrepair. Both pools were a mess. The stairways are wide open and my five year old fell on them and got hurt. No internet, no tv and the fridge didnt work. Only going for it was the bar!
