“swimming pool”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 21, 2011

Lancaster is the type of place where a bed & breakfast or a farm would be my first choice for lodging. However, if I have to stay at a chain hotel while staying in Lancaster, this would be the one I would choose.

We arrived really late at night (they lock the front door after 11pm) but the woman at the front desk buzzed me in right away and she was super friendly and helpful. We had asked about some things in town and she volunteered to print out directions and slip them under our hotel door that evening. She made us feel quite welcome. It's nice to check into a hotel and be greeted so genuinely.

The place lacks the charm of a B&B, but makes up for it otherwise. We got the suite, which was clean and roomy. It had one bathroom, one tv, and refrigerator. The room was clean and I slept well. Service was friendly and efficient. Also, they have an indoor swimming pool (something you won't find at most b&bs). Coffee all day and night in the lobby (as well as a coffee maker in the room), breakfast in the morning is included with your room rate (a mixture of hot and cold items). Like the person below mentioned, there is only one waffle maker so there could be a long line for that. I didn't experience that problem even though the hotel was quite crowded that weekend due to a quilting show that was in town. I would be quite happy to stay here again.

The hotel is in a good location if you are going to explore the Amish countryside by car. Strasburg, Intercourse, and downtown Lancaster are short drives away. The hotel doesn't have an atm in the lobby but there is a bank about a quarter mile down the street.

Compared to other chain hotels of the same class, this place was great. I'm eager to stay here again.

We picked this place based on tripadvisor reviews and it definitely lived up to the expectations. Its very clean, with spacious rooms that smell fresh and are well appointed. Our room had a king size bed, with sitting area which included a sofa, reading chair and coffee table. There was also a microwave and refrigerator which was unexpected but we used it. Staff is helpful and the continental breakfast was far superior to some of their competitors. I highly recommend this place for families, business travellers or couples looking for a quiet place offset from the highway but still close to all the action.

Booked a King bed room for one night. Check in was a breeze nice staff at the desk. The room was nice with a pull out sofa bed and sitting chair. The complimentary breakfast was ok. The problem is there is one waffle maker and one toaster. This alone keeps people waiting in line needlessly. The breakfast area is clean but not enough room to accomodate the crowds. Overall, I would stay here again. One suggestion GET RID OF THE ANNOYING $1.50 PER NIGHT SAFE FEE.

The hotels my husband and I usually stay while in Lancaster were booked for a last-minute weekend this November. We booked the Comfort Suites Amish Country, and I'll admit, we were skeptical about staying in a chain hotel that "affordable". To our surprise, it was not only in a great location, but recently renovated, clean, and the staff was very cordial. In addition, a one-night stay was under $150, compared to the $300 we usually spend per night at other Lancaster hotels/inns. Breakfast was quick and convenient as well. We will definitely stay there again!

Comfort Suites is just what it is called......large, overly charming, clean, functional suites that are exceptionally comfortable. I have stayed several times with my child at this particular Comfort Suites and am always impressed. Outstanding cleanliness, management, and nice staff. Delicious deluxe breakfast each time. Always hot, fresh, and plenty to go around. Excellent seating area for dining. Free coffee, tea, hot cocoa 24 hrs. a day. Exceptionally large, cozy, and comfortable computer access area offering 3 computers with large, comfortable computer chairs. Nice sized social area with an overly large flat screen wall mounted tv. The bathrooms are always clean. The carpets are also always clean....almost so clean that you wouldn't mind walking around bare foot. They are also very plush. The furniture, beds, and furnishings are all modern and add a very nice touch. Housekeeping is top notch is very friendly usually. The pool area is always amazingly clean and sanitized. The water is always a nice temperature. My 10 year old loves it. There are bathrooms off the pool area and in the main lobby. There is also a well stocked snack / convienence store and a decent sized, well equipped laundry room. The only dislike I have is that it is located on Lincoln Highway which is overly busy and usually traffic is congested. I just wish that it was out in the country more. Unless Comfort Suites has ideas of building more hotels in the Lancaster County area which would be great. It makes entering and exiting the establishment very difficult however if you cut thru the parking lot by Wendy's and the Dollar Tree stores, you will come out by Target which offers the traffic light and makes for quicker moving.
