I was there with my 2 small children on a Stayca

Pros - Great location. Comfortable beds and bedding, large well appointed room, flat screen TV. Plenty of outlets to charge just about anything you bring. Clean, Quiet, great view of the city, Ben -one of the valets was awesome! The lobby was beautiful and festive. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast and everyone was accomodating. Pool area was clean but be careful on the wet tiles. The person at the front desk has excellent customer service skills-she is from Oreland, Pa (was very engaged when she checked us in). Room Service was delicious, prompt and hot.
What impressed me the most was that milk and warm cookies were delivered to our room a little bit later after we arrived.

Cons - Bathroom has a vent where you are able to hear voices from the other bathroom being used in another room (quite clearly). Parking was expensive.


Excellent all the way around and will def. be back.

My husband and 2 daughters went to this hotel last Thanksgiving (2011) and had nothing but nice things to say. This year however, was different. We booked a little late and had to book the higher priced room. Although the room was beautiful and had an awesome view. After we arrived at our room our daughters were noticing lady bugs crawling on the windows. They were catching them....we were getting creeped out. We called the desk and as we were speaking, they found 3 or 4 more. The front desk seemed surprised by what we found. The bugs were on the curtains, window, etc. They sent a polite bellman up right away. He moved us to another room. We thought we would be given some type of credit for the hassle of moving to another room....we were already creeped out. We were leary that the next room (same type) would have a problem, but it was fine.
The pool is usually empty, since it's too cold. They only have 1 hot tub, which is pretty large, but it was always full. I finally got to get into it with my husband this year. The hotel is beautiful and it has a tree lighting in front of the hotel. A lot of people come from the area to watch. We had a hard time getting back to the hotel with some roads being blocked. But it was still a nice hotel.

Pros - comfortable beds and bedding, large well appointed room, flat screen with some HD programming and a unique interface above the desk for plugging devices into the TV (basically the rear of the TV mounted on the wall), fast elevators, clean, quiet, a view of the city, valet parking, beautiful lobby, connection to conference center, nice looking restaurant though we didn't partake, but the thing that stood out the most for us the most was the service. Excellent all the way around. They even Christmas comped us on the morning coffee room service.

Cons - not too many; parking was more expensive than expected and had to seek out the valet inside but maybe that's because it was Christmas Eve.

No matter, we had a very enjoyable stay and will be back again.

As we stay in Lancaster frequently, this was our first time at the Marriott at Penn Square. This was by far the best experience we have ever had at any hotel in the area! At check in we were offered free breakfast for two for both days and free internet. When we returned to our room that night we found a bottle of wine and cheese, fruit and crackers! Everyone was friendly and accomodating and we really enjoyed our stay even more because of the hotel staff. The parking garage is very close and the room was just the right size. The only cons were that the bed was too firm and not enough plugs for a hair dryer, electric toothbrush, etc.
