“One of the best quick getaway vacation I've had”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2008

I planned a last minute getaway trip to Lancaster, PA for Labor Day weekend 2008. I usually research hotels, areas, etc. to death, but this one seemed like a no brainer. This resort had it all. The hotel was super duper clean. The rooms were spacious and ours overlooked the indoor pool. The room was so quiet, you'd never know there were 20 screaming kids in the pool. The price was right as well. Very reasonable. When we arrived at around lunchtime, we headed to Bird in Hand for a buggie ride. We ended up with Abe's Buggie rides and had a wonderful time. Our driver was Amish and answered all of our questions as well as told us about their lifestyle. Then we headed to Good n' Plenty. I have to say I'm a picky eater, but I couldn't get enough of the food. That night on the menu was ham meatloaf, a roast and fried chicken. The fried chicken was the best I've ever had - nice & crispy. The sides were sweet corn, mash potatos, dutch noodles in browned butter and a bunch of other stuff. There was just as much for dessert. The next day we had the brunch at the hotel. For $30 we had a never-ending meal. There were at least 5 different stations with hundreds of choices: egg station, cheese and fruit station, bakery and bread station, pasta station, fish & meats, soups & salads and much much more. The food was super fresh and well prepared. We could've sat there for 2 more hours. We then headed to Adamstown for antique shopping. There really wasn't much too buy in old/furniture antiques - on the expensive side. There were tons of knick-knacks if that's what you're in to - you'll have a ball. This day was wrapped up by relaxing by the outdoor pool. Really nice area, clean and pretty big pool. The last day, we went to Intercourse for some local produce along the way to the touristy area which was still nice. Had a blast. We're still talking about it and definitely going back. There's really so much to do. This is also Outlet shopping heaven. Another really good place to eat is at Iron Horse Brewery across from Franklin & Marshall University.

I will agree with others when they say the place was nice, it is. It had clean well decorated rooms. We stayed 1 sleepless night and then checked out to go elsewhere. This hotel is RIGHT on the highway. I mean our bed was approx. 75 feet from the freeway. I have never stayed in a hotel that was so LOUD. The only way that we would ever book this hotel again is if they put up a cement noise barrier wall. We checked out the next morning and enjoyed the rest of our stay at another resort that overlooked a very quiet amish farm, not a highway!

The Eden appreciates when its guests comment about their recent experience. Most of our guests appreciate the convenience of the Eden’s location and the ease by which you can travel throughout Lancaster County and surrounding counties such as Hershey and Gettysburg, by using our nearby highway system. Although the road does pass by the hotel, very few of our rooms are affected by its sound. Recent renovations allowed us to completely redesign the few rooms that were near the road. Part of the renovation included the sound proofing of these rooms. Based on comments from our guests, the renovation and the sound proofing were successful.

Our goal at the Eden is to exceed our guests overall expectation regarding their visit. If a guest is not happy with a particular aspect of their stay we will correct the problem immediately, including if necessary, relocating the guest to another guest room. With nearly 300 beautifully decorated guest rooms, 50% of which are two room suites, located throughout the 12 acre professionally landscapped resort I am confident we will be able to find the perfect room for almost any need.

This turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The hotel is recently renovated so everything looks great. It has a nice size pool inside and out, along with shuffleboard and a playground area for smaller children. Conveniently located just minutes from downtown Lancaster, which has a dearth of hotels, and from Dutch Amish country.

  • Liked — As of 2008 everything was remodeled.
  • Disliked — It's right next to a gas station and the highway.

We just got back from a week there. Went to Hershey, Dutch, The Outlets... Listen to the other positive reviews. This place was great. We have 6 kids and stayed in one of the condo-type suites (Room 544). We had 2 floors, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, bunk beds, etc. And all for a great price. The rooms were clean, nicely decorated, with a full kitchen. The living room had 2 Plasma televisions hanging on the walls (one in LV RM and one in Dining Rom). Cleaning ladies were there every day. The pools were very clean too. One night, they even set up a a giant screen by the pool and showed a movie. The front desk had very polite people. Just a really nice place and not a far drive from Hershey Park.

My children and I stayed at this resort in August 2008.
All I can say is what an incredible and beautiful resort it is.
Very children friendly. We had a King suite and there was sooo much room for my toddler to run about.
The distance from Dutch Wonderland was very reasonable and without the congestion of being on Lincoln Highway East.
We are already plaaning another visit for Summer of 2009!
