Our two bedroom suite in the Galleria was clean and reasonably comfortable. The staff couldn't do enough for us; they were pleasant and responded to our needs in minutes. Our suite was cleaned every day. On the downside, the indoor pool was a bit cloudy. The elevator and hallways had a musty, strange odor. The waterpark was great fun. Lots of activities for all ages. Great pick-up basketball for teens and adults. Pizza shop and ice cream parlor were just fine. Didn't use the dining room. The Lakehouse Restaurant nearby for dinner was great. Nearby horseback riding and Boulder Field.

First, Willowbrook: This section of Split Rock was wonderful. Looked new and very modern. We had a two bedroom (lock off) and my eight year old son loved it. He had his own apartment. The rooms were clean and well maintained. I would recommend staying there, however, beware of the rest of the resort. My son did have fun there, but, it was very run down and dated. The indoor pool at the galleria was murky. The outdoor pool was ok, but the changing and bathroom building was a dump. Because were were there the week of the Wine Festival, many of the outdoor areas were closed off, which was upsetting as we wanted to play baseball. I heard that there were intentions to build up the Willowbrook area, which is fine, but the resort really should upgrade the common areas of the Gallaria and the outdoor pool first. The indoor water park is first rate - we really enjoyed it. It is a little small, but I didn't mind this, it made it very easy to keep track of my son.
Please note that my rating is for Willowbrook alone. If I were rating the entire resort, the rating would be much lower.

The purpose of this visit was purely a small Family gathering. It just so happen that the wine feast was the same weekend and that was a blast. The staff was attentive and ready and willing to please, every time you turned around there was someone asking if there was anything they could do for you. There was so much to do and so much to see that I will have to go back because I just didn't have enough time to do it all. The new water park called H2O was amazing. We were able to relax while the children of all ages were entertained. When you have young ones and teenagers this is difficult to do, but it was a great day! The bowling alley , game room and movie theater kept the young and old entertained and afters there was always ice cream and pizza. Thank you to Split Rock for keeping the old time family fun alive and thank you to the staff who made an enjoyable weekend even more pleasant

We just returned from a one week stay at SpitRock Resort. This place is absolutely the worst place I have ever seen. Every ammenity was closed or damaged. The rooms are classic 1970's style. There were two windows on the entire floor and at 11am the place looked like it was late evening due to a lack of sunlight in the room. Top reasons to stay away from this dump:

-This place is a ghost town except for the indoor waterslide which has an extra $30 admission.
-Moldy, Smelly bedrooms in the basement.
-The movie theatre, pool hall, ice cream parlor are a joke.
-Broken TVs... 10 Channels of Infomercials
-No INTERNET or CELL PHONE SERVICE
-Nothing to do within a 30 mile radius. This place is in the middle of nowhere.
-Daily Calls to sell you a time share.
-Broken Gym Equipment

Ideal place for:
Motorcyle gangs

Stayed in the Villa, traded a week throurgh our timeshare Inside the townhouse was exceptional clean, but no updates for 15+ years. Windows on the outside of the unit were filthy, as if they had not be cleaned in years. The groundskeepers were cleaning leaves in the area near out unit and never attempted to pick up littered beer can nearby. No pay-per-view TV, no internet unless you were in a hotspot like the Galleria. Staff appears depressed. No one smile, its as if you are an outsider bugging them.
We thought we would workout everyday of our stay but the fitness center was a bad joke. 7 aerobic machines and only 2 treadmills were working and the bases on these units were filthy. The were wires hanging from the TV in the workout are that dangled to outlets as well as wires lying on the floor connecting the treadmills and creating a safety issue. The weightlifting equipment was old as well. Hot tub area was closed under construction, but it looked like it had been that way for quite sometime. There was no construction material in the area, no clean up in progress and the only equipment I saw out was a ladder.
This place is a dump! I would recommend never stay here, stay home instead.
