We stayed at Split Rock over spring break, booking a room and water park combo. This is a great water park for kids up to about 11 or 12. Beyond that age, though, there may not be enough to keep kids happy. Our 10-year-old loved the water slides, the flow rider and the wave pool. And, he was young enough to enjoy some of the attractions for younger kids, like the play area with two body slides, water cannons and dumping bucket. During busy times it can be difficult to claim a lounge chair or seat, so come when the park first opens. It's loud, so bring ear plugs if you want to retain your sanity. There's an L-shaped pool outside the waterpark area for kids who want to play volleyball or just splash around, along with two ping-pong tables. That may be just for hotel guests, though, I'm not sure.
