“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2013

My husband and I booked this hotel for a weekend getaway and we loved it! The hotel was very modern and clean, the staff very helpful, and we were close enough to everything. Valley Forge was less than 5 mins away, as well as King of Prussia Mall, and it only took us 25 minutes to drive to Philadelphia for a day of sightseeing. The breakfast was good and you had many options to choose from. From make your own waffles to a bowl of cereal, you can easily find something to fill you up.

Despite the hotel being filled up with many teenagers from various sports teams, we had no issues with noise and slept great the whole time on the very comfortable bed. We thankfully were located far from the elevator but I recommend not getting a room close to the elevator as the ding it makes when it arrives is VERY loud and I felt sorry for those who had rooms right by the elevator.

The free wi-fi was nice, and it had one of the best connections I have ever gotten at a hotel. Having an in-room microwave, fridge, and coffee maker was also a perk. I will gladly come back to this hotel again.

this was the second time i have stayed here. the first time was nice. this time, it was a horror show save for juliet at the front desk. she was so accommodating and very pregnant also. i felt bad for her, she had back to back shifts. back to her later.

this is a modern hotel with a lovely free hot breakfast consisting of scrambled eggs, sausage, potato pancakes, waffles with the usual assortment of breads, muffins, cereal etc. the gym facilities consist of free weights, two modern elliptical machines and two treadmills...all with their own tv screens. the pool is small and outdoors. they have a bar in the eveningsin the lobby.

the place seems very popular with guests playing team sports in the area which refers back to the title of this review. the first time, the place was populated with young teen girls staing for some soccer event. no problem. this time, the hotel was populated with 8-10 year old hockey playing boys with parents who let them run wild in the hallways and other areas of the hotel. in addition, since the parents and children know each other, they feel the need to keep their doors open so they can all interact which turns the hallways into their living room. the loud conversations in the halls, the running around, the parents behaving even worst than their children was too much to bear. i had to request a room change and juliet accomodated us with cheerfulness and understanding. the only problem was she moved us to the other wing of the same floor. the noise was still voluminous, but, bearable. what wasn't bearable was that my wife found two rather large bugs on the comforter and another on the ceiling, later on in the evening. since we are not entomologists, we can't tell you what kind of bugs they were, but upon notifying juliet, she speculated that they may have been "stinkbugs," whatever the hell they are. nevertheless, juliet, apologized profusely and moved us one more time. the last room went off without a hitch.

my wife speculated that maybe a prior guest had opned the windows and the bugs came in because otherwise, the rooms and the hotel in general was spotless. so, what is the moral of this story? stay midweek, or if you have little children of your own to unleash...this is the place for you.

ps. this hotel is very close by car to king of prussia mall, valley forge, the valley forge casino, villanova, bryn mawr, swarthmore

Very new hotel, well-maintained in the early going, some nice design touches. Standard SpringHill Suites breakfast gets the job done, bar has limited but reasonable beer selection. Comfortable beds, though the translucent bathroom door doesn't allow one person to use the bathroom without bright light shining directly onto the bed and waking the other up. Location is semi-secluded so you won't get substantial highway noise or nearby vehicle lights; there's nothing within walking distance, but if you're visiting King of Prussia you've almost certainly got a car anyway.

Now the catch. Five nights a week the hotel-standard thin hallway-facing walls wouldn't be a problem. Friday and Saturday night, though? These guys host a significant number of youth sports teams playing tournaments. If you're one of these, it's great -- there's nothing around for kids to run off to, breakfast is included, and there's room in the lobby for quick team meetings etc. If you're not, though? Too bad; your sleep is now hostage to 50-100 pre-teens and teenagers traveling with minimal parental supervision. The hotel asks adults to sign a statement at check-in accepting a 10 PM curfew and offers that they'll have offenders tossed out; problem is, you're already not sleeping, and who wants to do that to the other kids on the same ticket who weren't running around?

Best to just stay elsewhere on the weekend. Given my experiences in the area, pick a comparable chain that doesn't offer free breakfast and you're golden. Your sleep is worth the $10.

Stayed here getaway weekend, the rate was less than $100 with tax. Easy access to Valley Forge Park, Audubon, K of P Mall, a zillion restaurants and the Schuylkill trail. The breakfast was pretty decent but by 9 they had run out of coffee :( Staff cheerful.

Room Tip: Stay away from the elevators, the floor bell could wake the dead.

Stayed here with my husband for a weekend get-away (and travel show). The hotel staff was friendly and helped us narrow down great food to have delivered. The lobby was spacious, modern and welcoming. Upon entering our large room, we were greeted with beautiful modern decor and a lovely sitting room area that was separated from our bedroom. The designers made great use of the space and tucked the bathroom away into a room with sliding doors. Although not very spacious, the bathroom was big enough for two people to move around. The shower was amazing! The breakfast seating area was clean and provided ample space for guest to spread out. The food was typical hotel make-your-own breakfast, but I appreciated the attendant on duty who ensured the trays were stocked and the area was kept clean. This hotel is only a few minutes away from the casino and convention center. If we ever need to be in this area again, then SpringHill will definitely get our business!

My coworkers & I had been staying at the Collegeville hotel twice a year but we switched to this one because we weren't satisfied w/the other (and we wanted breakfast included). This is a marked improvement. Decor is really nice, service was pretty good. Beds were VERY comfy. Rooms were quite spacious. Lots of good breakfast choices.

Problem areas: As usual, the front desk staff had a lot of trouble finding all our packages when we asked for them. What's with that??? I was en route to a nearby FedEx/Kinkos to drop a lot of money to re-photocopy materials that had apparently arrived when the desk clerk phoned to tell me she found them. Thank goodness - it would've been a huge waste of time, money, and paper.

Speaking of waste, when will hotels stop using styrofoam (which NEVER breaks down), and plastic?

Even after a week, I still couldn't get used to that bizarre shower contraption.

You can hear EVERYTHING through the walls.

There's NO signage on the main road & it's up a dead end street. Good luck finding the place the first time you go.

Selected this over the nearby Doubletree where my edu credits were held b/c the jr suite concept works better for me since each night involves intense study and I can do that more easily when there is some sense of separation between rooms. Plus the couch, coffee table, microwave makes it much easier to bring dinner 'in' when you really need to hit the books. Try it. I had requested a room away from people, and staff gave me one. It was very quiet even after kids sports teams came the last night and stayed - who knows where but not near me. HVAC set slightly warm and resisted adjusting; opened window. Only thing keeping it from 5 stars. Located down a cute country lane. If you're bringing back food, Wegmans and the fantastic food bar is not that far (go the back way). Breakfast standard, fine, not crowded - cut fruit only 1 of 3 mornings tho. Helpful, pleasant staff. Good concept, good deal.

Room Tip: I wanted a quiet and somewhat remote room; staff came through :)
