During a spontaneous weekend excursion on our motorcycle, we ended up in Kane, PA on a Sunday evening looking for a place to stay after a long day of sightseeing and adventure. We were thrilled when we came across this B&B and were able to get accomodations for the night. We found our stay to be quite pleasant. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, the water hot and the owners pleasant. Breakfast was simple but good, the coffee fresh & hot , and we were not rushed to check-out and be on our way.
In its hayday this historic site must have been spectacular. Although in some need of repair, the manors ambiance and charm has not diminished with time. The current owner is working to restore the Manor to its original beauty . We are looking forward to going back again, preferrably in the fall , to explore the 200+ acres of land that surround the property (still owned by the Kanes) by walking the many paths and trails that were long ago carved out of the landscape so that all who visit can experience the beauty, peace and solitude of Mother Natures magnificance.
If you like old, quaint places with character as an alternative to chain hotels/motels with the same old recurring theme (2 double beds, a dresser, coffee pot, blow dryer, bible and phone, this place is worth checking out.
