“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 4, 2012

Don't let the look of the outside fool you- the rooms are modern with a vintage feel. There was a really nice Jacuzzi in the room, along with a fireplace. Great place for a mini romantic vacation. Another plus was the breakfast voucher for the restaurant, which was downstairs. The food was excellent. I'll def. be back.

This hotel is definitely an older location but clean and nice. The rooms are smaller and our bed was only a double which was an adjustment for 2 of us but we only stayed for 2 nights and were not in the room much. The restaurant was nice. Our server seemed to forget about us once we were seated and the manager came over and comped our drinks. The food was delicious though. The breakfast vouchers are convenient, especially since we were there during the off season and most of the local coffee houses did not open until the afternoon. Overall this was a very nice hotel and great location but do not expect a lot of modern amenities or space. Parking is limited.

Room Tip: If you are looking for space or a larger bed, be sure to call and ask for a mini suite or suite as I...

My wife and I stayed at the Inn for our 'Babymoon' in a 2 queen bed deluxe suite. Originally we had scheduled a weekend stay the first weekend in March, however I came down with the flu the morning we were supposed to arrive. We called the Inn around 5 pm the day of arrival and they were very accommodating. They had no problem letting us reschedule our reservations for 2 weeks later with no charge or hassle involved. Very A+ plus service because I was worried that with the Inn's cancellation policy that we could possibly be charged. The staff was very kind and wished me a speedy recovery.

We stayed a Friday and Saturday night. The town and the Inn were very beautiful in both layout and feel. Also, the weather was magnificent. We had a great time just relaxing on the balcony and walking around the town enjoying the many neat little shops that line Broadway and Race street. My only dissapointment was that a lot of the attractions are seasonal (my fault for not looking ahead) and we were unable to tour the Jail and take a train ride, but the town's scenery more than made up for the inability to do a few things.

The breakfast vouchers included in the price of the room are a very nice way to start the day. My wife and I both enjoyed the menu selections and the food was very good. The breakfast service on Sunday morning was a bit slow but we were there to relax so we had no time constraints and it wasn't a big deal.

Our deluxe 2 queen bed room was very beautiful and clean. The furniture and feel of the room with high ceilings was very relaxing and comfortable. The beds and pillows were cozy and the bathroom, while small, provided all that we need in a bathroom :).

Overall, I would recommend the Inn to anyone looking to relax and just getaway for a day or two!

We recently spent a Thursday and Friday night at the Inn. It was a relaxing and enjoyable trip. The people were very friendly. We ate at the grill which is on the premises and it was very good. The unique details in all of the woodwork in the Inn were beautiful. Jim Thorpe is a quaint little town. I look forward to going back. We will stay at the Inn again.

Room Tip: We enjoyed a room facing Broadway, so we could view the town area.

Just got back from a two night stay at Jim Thorpe Inn and can't say enough about the accommodations and service. The Master Suite was amazing and the large Jacuzzi tub was the perfect ending to a day of skiing and snowboarding. The breakfast at the Broadway Restaurant downstairs is excellent and you receive a parking voucher and 7 dollar voucher for breakfast per person, per night. Loved it and will be back.

Room Tip: Go for the mini or Master suites with Jacuzzi tubs...

My wife and I booked a ski and stay package at the Inn for my birthday. The value of the room combined with the lift tickets and breakfast voucher was great! We arrived at the Inn early on check-in day to obtain our tickets for Blue Mountain. The front desk clerk was friendly and provided us with our tickets and directions to the mountain-I made sure to tell the reservation department that we would be arriving early that day to obtain our tickets. After a full day of skiing, we returned to the hotel to officially check in. The front desk clerk (different person) could have been a little friendlier; however we had no problems at all. Our room was located down the street at the “55 Broadway” building. The building was recently renovated with up-to-date room features. We entered the building and climbed the steps to the 3rd floor (no elevator). The room was very spacious and had a small fireplace and corner whirlpool style tub in the main area. The shower/toilet room was very small. The fireplace was also a little too small for the size of the room. The king bed was comfortable. We thought the traffic noise overnight was busy for a little town (Of course the hotel has nothing to do with that). The town of Jim Thorpe has good restaurants, and shopping. We rented our ski equipment at a little shop at the end of the street- I would definitely recommend do that to save both time and money- Much better customer service as well. We ate dinner and breakfast at the Broadway Grill located in the Inn- good service, tasty meals and fairly priced. The Inn itself is confirmed haunted and I would not be surprised if the “55” building is as well. Out of 6 or 7 rooms in the building, we were the only couple staying there which added to some of the spookiness of the hallways and building. While the building is renovated, the tall; somewhat slanted staircases added to the haunted effect. We also took some pictures of the room and white orbs appeared in the photos. I’m not an expert at paranormal activity, however based on some Google searches of the Inn, orbs and mist have appeared in photographs. Bottom line- Stay at this hotel. The service, value, comfort, location and history with appeal to everyone despite to possibly of ghost activity…

Room Tip: Ask for room # 30 in the "55 Broadway Building"- Large room overlooking Broadway with hot...

The Inn at Jim Thorpe was nice! Wanted to do a belated Valentine’s get a way and it worked just fine. Room was small but clean. People for the most part were friendly and service was good. Our package included $30 per person for dinner and $7 per person for breakfast. The restaurant at the inn was nice clean and quite. Service was very good as well the food was tasty with nice portions and VERY affordable. With are coupons we had I think we only had to pay MAYBE another $10 for the diner and another $5 for breakfast. The ONLY issues we had was we reserved and suite on purpose. We wanted a room that had a two person Jacuzzi/hot tub in the room. And, it did! However, after we booked to room I found pictures on the web of the rooms and the Jacuzzi’s they had. In the pictures they looked REALLY small and NOT large enough for two. I emailed the inn asking the size they responded that the tubs were big enough for two! Needless to say they were not! Outside of these as I stated above the place was fine and, the town of Jim Thorpe is a really cool old romantic town!
