“Best food and most relaxing ”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

From the minute we walked in we felt like VIPs, Tony greeted us like old friends. The mansion is well kept and inviting for as big as it is. We were offered drinks and told what the specials were. We had relaxed "vacation" feeling throughout the meal, we were not rushed but the staff hurried to fill any request. After a great dinner we sat at the cozy bar for a drink and while I'm not very outgoing my date and I made friends with others patrons. I truly believe it's because we felt so comfortable there because of the truly friendly staff - we will be back. Tony is the pinnacle host.

“Fine dining, casual atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2014

There's so much to say about Tony Stella's Encore in Jim Thorpe. My wife and I love Jim Thorpe, but had never eaten at Tony Stella's. It was a weekend away for us, and we figured "why not?" We booked reservations online for 6:30 PM. We arrived at 6:25 PM and were promptly seated. The maitre d' (I'll give you a hint, it's Tony) reviewed the specials for the evening, and checked back often (but not too frequently) to make sure everything was going well. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant. It is an old Victorian home converted to a restaurant. Very nice, very quaint, but not cramped.

The beer list is extensive, the cocktails were mixed perfectly, the service was outstanding. We both ordered the fillet stuffed with lobster tail. Although we ordered medium steaks, and they came out more medium well than medium, it's not enough to take away from this restaurant. Service was prompt, and friendly. There was some wait for the food, but it wasn't unreasonable, and it is what is expected when food is cooked to order, and not sitting on a hot table waiting for a home.

I cannot comment on desserts. We were satiated from the entrees alone, and didn't want to over do it. We were offered an after dinner drink complements of Tony. Again, we passed. Overall, it was an enjoyable dinner, and my wife and I are looking forward to returning soon!

“Romantic - Great Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2014

Tony was fantastic! We ended up in a cozy corner next to the talented singer. The evening was charming. The food was divine! from the scallops to risotto to pork and veal! Cherry Jubilee was amazing and Tony was kind enough to treat us with after dinner drinks on the house. The wait staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The atmosphere elegant yet comfortable.
Definitely recommended.

“ripped of on wine”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2014

nice cool place but as we read the article in the menu about how they do not over charge for there wines we ordered two glasses of house wine as the bar tender told us they were priced at 7.00 in menu we were charged 9.00 and when we questioned it she told us we got premium wine so I reminded her of what she served us and told us what the wine was{and it was far from premium} she quickly changed her story and said they never got time to change the old prices from the last owner and said she could talk to Tonyif we wanted-the whole thing was just wrong
Until we got our bill we were going to go back for dinner but now were not sure. By the way we paid the18.00

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2014

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the town. The service if excellent, food is always outstanding, the selection of Absinthe is really good. Tony is overly attentive to everyone in the restaurant treating everyone as though they were part of his family. All of his staff follow his lead. I have been here on numerous occasions and have never had a single bad experience.
