“Seafood at its best!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2011

After hearing about this place from family friends who live nearby I thought it was about time to make the two hour trip north and let me say it was well worth it!

A beautiful day made the dining experience even nicer as we sat out in the restaurant and enjoyed the cool breeze and sunshine. As there was a group of us we ordered a number of items so as to try as much as possible. The food was delicious, in particular the oysters (huge!) and lobster mac and cheese. We also tried the scampi, BBQ prawns and salt & pepper calamari all of which were amazing but the finishing touch was the homemade rocky road icecream which was heaven!!

I thought it was very reasonably priced and the service really good. We were never wiithout water (which is a big thing for me as a non-drinker and therefore the designated driver).

I will be back!!

“mmmm - just not there”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

look - it is a first class location, run in a 1950 style off hand manner. The food is good. But i get very annoyed when they do not give me an itemized list of the order when I pay.
I paid $180 and could not figure out what cost what. We were not given a wine list and told very rudely that we could not bring in wine. So I ordered one bottle of house white - which I can only figure cost $63! It was a mystery and unpleasant experience.
BUT a fabulous location - if they had competition they would quickly change.

“Just order take away!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2011

Attending the Fishermans Wharf for a birthday lunch recently, we were greeted by a less then welcoming waitress. Due to our lively 3yr old daughter we moved to a quiet little corner as to not upset or disturb other diners. Upon noticing this the waitress looked at us like we were making her job harder then it had to be, serisously??? Ordering drinks was a challenge as the imported beers were not the norm and when asked for an opinion, was given no help what so ever. The childrens meal of fish and chips was beautiful. The lobster morney was very small with hardly any meat at all, not enough to satisfy the adult diner. The Chilli Blue swimmer crab, well!!!! If you like chilli, don't order this meal as it doesn't have any in it, but if you like the over powering taste of cheap wine and uncooked chunks of tomato, then your in for a real treat. Our meals were served without bread or a finger bowl, although others in the resturant had received theirs. And while digesting this very forgetable meal, we got to listen to a (very important) business man taking a 10 minute phone call and was not approached for drink top ups or assistance at all. Then when paying the waitress ask'd,"How was the meal"? She appeared shocked when told,"very average", although I this coment fell on deaf ears. So if your looking for a seafood lunch at woy woy, stick to the take away or try the near by Maccas for a fillet-a-fish meal.

“Absolutely wonderfull”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 5, 2011

We ate here twice this week - once takeaway and once restaurant.

On both occassions we were very impressed with the food and we are not easily pleased - see previous reviews.

Simple fish and chips but the fish was just sooo fresh and the service on both occassions first class.

Obviously it's not a Icebergs or Pier place, and the view over the water is pretty dull but the freshness of the seafood is what it is all about. 10 out of 10 from us.

Enjoy
Kayte

“Blatant bias”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2011

Went with three friends 2 of who had been there over the last twenty years.
The restaurant now has a full liquor licence so the usual BYO wine we had brought with us had to go back to the car.
Had our meal accompanied by wine and beer rom the bar - food reasonable.
Before leaving noticed a couple (one of whom is a prominant disenfranchised parliamantarian) come in carrying their own alcohol, sit down and after being supplied with an ice bucket and wine glasses, they then proceeded to enjoy their BYO.
When queried about this we were told the couple were 'old customers'
Could not be given the name of the manager as no staff knew him/her.
Have written the place off the list if they cannot be honest.
