“Basic Accomodation”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2013

Stayed in room 108 Bathroom in very poor state looked unclean bath had huge crack and covered with masking tape, a step up to the shower made it very difficult to access. Phone in room but no connection family were unable to contact. Minimal cutlery only 2 plastic spoons.
Restaurant basic but edible. Staff friendly and motel conveniently located. Very over priced
for room I was given. Will not recommend.

Stayed last Monday night 24/06, older style motel, clean and tidy, large rooms, price is excellent for what it is, when compared to another motel a few doors down that charges a lot more. Had dinner in the bistro, excellent food. We were at the rear of the motel with plenty of parking for large vehicles outside our room. Breakfast was also very good, we will be back, thanks Stephen and Kathy W.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013 via mobile

We had a 2 night stay over June long-weekend. Arrived at tea time, they need more staff as the poor lady on reception had to do the orders in the cafe as well. She was really helpful despite the workload she was under. Our room was at the back of the complex, so we had very little road noise. Rooms were very basic, but clean and tidy. They need to work on the aircon as it was very noisy and made it difficult to sleep with it on. Breakfast was available in cafe/dining room on Sunday, but we had to find elsewhere on Monday.... Not good seeing as they are not in town. We would stay there again if these problems were addressed.

We stayed here for one night in room 57. The motel itself is quite old and probably well over 25 odd years old. On entering the room it smelt quite stale and musty, however once the airconditioning got going it was fine. Sheets were clean, toilet and spa bath also, excellent spray from the shower head. Fresh towels, plenty of tea and coffee and sachets of milk in the fridge. The mattress was hard, but my husband and I slept really well on it. Reception staff very helpful and friendly. Trust me I am paranoid about dirty rooms and I was quite happy to sleep here. It is fine for an overnight stay. I normally stay at the upmarket hotels such as the Hilton or Hyatt and you cannot compare this to any of those. Two totally different spectrums. As long as you take this into account you will not be disappointed.

Location was good for an overnight stop on a long trip . Had stayed here before and wasn't impressed but gave it another try (limited choice as we needed 2bdr accomodation) and was a bit happier this time round. It is very basic and old. Rooms were spacious enough but the beds are fairly hard and room was very stuffy but check in was easy, staff friendly enough and it met our needs.
Although the room description said there was a basic kitchenette, it was really only tea/coffee making facilities and possibly a microwave . One thing I did find off putting was that you are charged extra for leaving dirty dishes however there is no proper sink to wash them in so I'm guessing a lot of guests simply rinse them in the little bathroom sink. Our breakfast bowls were still wet in the cupboard so we weren't game to use them.
Overall it's fine if all you need is a bed to break up a long trip but it is very basic and overpriced for what it is.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

We stayed here for 1 night at the last minute after 12 hours of travel.

The room was a decent size and clean but very basic. Being on the highway, I assumed that people stay here just to get some sleep after travelling but the room needed improvements for this.

The blinds didn't close well and the window above the door had no curtain, so light beamed in from outside all night. The air conditioner was really noisy so we had to turn it off. The toilet was leaking so kept filling up and emptying every 5 minutes (we had to turn it off). The towel rack was ripped off the wall. Happily, we couldn't hear the traffic from the highway.

The room had a spa, which meant we were in a 'luxury' room but as it was turned off, we paid the price for a standard room ($115). Which was too much.

Staff at reception were polite and the cooked breakfast was good although they were using paper cups for coffee and tea (plastic cutlery in the rooms too), which really added to the overall opinion that it wasn't worth the money.

Lastly, we advised reception that we had a baby so we might be placed away from others - for their convenience not ours - as the baby cried all night. But although lots of rooms seemed empty we got placed in between two other guests. Hopefully we didn't keep them up!

Info centre sent us here and it was awful. Asked for a two bedroom unit was sold a family room, should have checked as we had a bed in lounge and bunks in one room. Cockroaches on bench and air conditioning drowned out any talking. Had to turn off to hear each other. also had to go to kitchen to get glasses plates etc. Dim and dark. Hopefully when upgraded put in double glazing as noise from main highway always there. Receptionist was rude to trainee in front of us - a bit embarrasing
