“Great stopover”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

Stopped on our way driving south for a family occasion. Very comfortable bed, clean rooms, recent facelift. Very friendly hosts who provide a good continental breakfast included with the fee. Busy motel. We lost our carpark when we went out to get dinner and had to park away from our room, but it was the beginning of school holidays. Lovely looking pool, but was too cold to enjoy it. I'd stop here again if I ever do another road trip that way.

We enjoyed a quiet night in a comfortable warm bed with crisp linen. There were no electric blankets but we did not need them. The reverse cycle air conditioning warmed the room up for my girlfriend. There was a a decent size LCD TV on the wall with good reception. The bathroom was modern, roomy, clean, and there was lots of water pressure and hot water. The motel was not full on the Thursday night we stayed, but there were a few cars parked near ours - we did not hear anybody through the brick walls of the room though.

The breakfast had a wide range of cereals and there was toast, juice, and there were a few choices of instant coffe (I actually like it!) and tea. The breakfast room has a huge plasma TV, was roomy, and a view of a nice looking pool.

The managers were very friendly and offered great service, offering to hide the room key if we were going to be arriving late. Highly recommended if you are looking to stay near Newcastle.

We stayed here for a night on our way to Canberra. The beds were so comfy, the room was very neat, tidy and most importantly very clean. The continental breakfast included in the price was very delicious with a great outlook out to the pool for a great start to the day. The staff were very friendly too and made us feel very welcome and were very helpful with knowledge of the local area. I rate Sleepy Hill very high. Well done.

As this was the half way point between home and Port Macquarie we weren't looking for anything too flash, but were pleasantly surprised.

We were running an hour late and a quick phone call had the owner wait up for us which was nice. The room was a good size with a nice newly renovated bathroom. Comfy beds and a great continental breaky made this a great deal.

Room Tip: Don't book on line, cheaper to contact them direct.

After traveling for 8 hours & finding all other motels were booked out (being Easter), we came across the Sleepy Hill. The owners are truly the most pleasant people I've dealt with. The rooms are clean & the pool is awesome & breakfast a bonus. A big MUST STAY.. A++++++++++++

Comfortable, clean, and you get what you pay for...
Minor drawbacks:
the poor quality breakfast in the morning
Rooms at the back are fairly old
Despite all this, it is cheap so don't expect lavish. It's a place to break up your journey, nothing else so don't come with high expectations, and you'll be pleasantly surprised... I think the above is being fairly objective...
