“Good lunches”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2013

Really hearty lunches with a stunning view on a nice day. Bit pricey especially when you through in a couple beers but a nice way to relax and enjoy an afternoon in the sun at the edge of Guthega a big plus is being able to ski in and out.

“Great beer, great views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012

This is the best place on the mountain to sit and relax for a bit, have a beer and enjoy the view across the valley on a clear day.

The choice of German beers is pretty good (certainly better than anything else on the mountain) with a great wheat beer called Maisel's Weisse available, which I haven't found anywhere else. For that reason alone it's worth heading over there for lunch.

The food is so-so; again, compared to what else is available on the mountain (greasy hot dogs etc) it's super "gourmet" but that's not saying much! It's also quite expensive.

So in summary, great beer and great views, so-so expensive food.

“Best choice on the mountain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2012

The great snow and a week on the mountain meant that lunch came round quickly - nothing at Perisher, Blue Cow or the alternative at Guthega rate in comparison to Guthega Alpine Inn. Sensational table service, a willingness to cater for dietary requirements and the most amazing view mean that I would ski to Guthega, just for lunch. Great bar, indoor and outdoor dining options make this a must do. Cannot understand what went wrong for previous diners - my experience gives Guthega Alpine Inn Restaurant 5 stars on all counts. Prices are great - the value and quality are brilliant considering the competition.

“Horrible Hotel”

Staff are aggressive for reasons that don't make any sense. I went there to relax and enjoy lunch with friends but ended being abused buy the grubs that runs this place.

“Overpriced Attitude at Altitude”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2012

I had the unfortunate experience of having a meal, if you can call it that at the Guthega Alpine Inn. The experience was laughable from beginning to end. After arriving and being told that there was a long wait for food and we shouldn't bother we put in our order. The wait wasn't the problem, but the awful attitude of the owner and meals that arrived at our table were beyond depressing.

After spending over $150 on four drinks, three pizzas, a schnitzel and chips our friends arrived about 15 minutes later only to be told the kitchen was closed. I am sorry, but after spending that amount of money surely you could put some more chips in the fryer. When our meals did arrive the 'pizzas' consisted of a piece of Lebanese bread, tasty cheese, tomato slices and pepper. Um, $16 for that!?! They also changed the sides on the schnitzel order without telling us and the owner gave us attitude when we pointed out that we weren't told.

The owner is clearly trying to wring the last dollars out of the place before moving on to another tragic project. My advice; buy a cold drink, enjoy the view and make a cheese sandwich when you get home.
