It's a friendly lodge. The owner George cooks a fantastic meal and dessert every night. There's a great lounge room with comfy chairs and sofas to relax in. The bedrooms are fairly basic but had everything we needed. It was a clean place. Big TVs. Breakfast is also supplied. Good ensuite bathroom and shower.
It's right at the snow. George can drive you down the small hill to the Perisher Ski Field so you just walk across the small bridge to get to the ski area. And he'll pick you up at the end of the day.
We went at the end of June, just before the peak season, so it was cheaper and if you work out the difference between staying further away and commuting to the snow each day, plus the extra time and hassle you save being right there, then add in the awesome food which itself you'd probably have to pay around $30 per person at least per day from shops or restaurants, at $110 per person, it was the better option.
