Last week, my husband whisked me away for a surprise birthday weekend in Mollymook.
Having scoured Trip Advisor for places to stay, he decided upon Mollymook Beach Waterfront. What a great choice.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by our host Ken who was welcoming and informative. Having shown us through the apartment, Ken advised that a newspaper would be delivered each morning free of charge, and explained he was available 24/7 for any queries or issues. We were then left alone to marvel at the place.
The two apartments (Reef Break and Whale Watch) are situated next to each other but there is never a feeling of a lack of privacy and there are two very informative folders containing information from local activities, to walks, to restaurants, places to visit etc.
The attention to detail in the kitchen implements available was great. The food hamper and fridge items provided were delicious and comprehensive, including eggs and bacon, a variety of condiments, English muffins, fresh coffee, nibbles, sweet treats, orange juice, sparkling wine etc
The property was immaculate and extremely comfortable. The decorative touches throughout the apartment were simply lovely and the prints/photos adorning the walls were well chosen and a visual treat. The latex bed was really comfortable and the bathroom, spotlessly clean and with a huge roomy shower and soft fluffy towels. Soap, shampoo and tissues were supplied.
For us, the only service missing was the lack of internet. Although this was a romantic weekend getaway, in this day and age of internet access and communication, we felt a little “cut off”. However, Ken was in the processing of organising internet connection (once again ensuring all comfort and expectations would be met) for his guests.
However, without doubt, the most memorable feature was the fabulous view onto Reef Break, just around the corner from the Bogey Hole on Mollymook Beach. Each morning I watched the sunrise as it was so beautiful and then we watched the surfers as we sat back and ate our breakfast on the verandah.
If you are not going out for the evening, the DVD selection is one of the best I have ever seen. Many and varied genres and release dates to choose from.
I would recommend going on some of the suggested headland walks, meandering along the beaches, visiting Pidgeon House Tea Rooms, going for a wine tasting at Cupitt’s Winery and taking the drive to Pebbly Beach to see the kangaroos.
Mollymook Beach Waterfront is a really lovely place for a romantic getaway with privacy, luxury, great views and situated in a great location with many local attractions and activities (including the golf course right alongside).
Ken and June have a done a wonderful job in providing such a gem of accommodation in Mollymook. We will be highly recommending them to our friends and family and will no doubt return ourselves.

Dear Jenni. What can I say but thank you, thank you. Such a comprehensive review is so helpful to those who like you and your husband want to be able to book a special weekend with the confidence that what is advertised is exactly what you will receive. Thank you also for the recommendation of internet service, Telstra are attending to that as a matter of urgency. We hope you can make it back again sometime in the future and enjoy the beauty and attractions that our wonderful destination has to offer. Sincerely Ken.
