Owner description: Merimbula Marina is a small family owned business. Our passion is whale watching and for 8 months of the year this is what we do. May to August during the Norther Migration of the wonderful humpback whales we operate cruises out of Darling Harbour Sydney. And then for the Southern Migration from September to December we run daily cruises from Merimbula on the NSW South Coast. The Southern Migration from Merimbula is our favourite time of the year as so many whales pass close to the shore and the whale watching is sensational!Outside of the whale season we operate Scenic Dolphin Cruises December to August. These cruises are a wonderful way to see the spectacular Sapphire Coast from the water and regularly sight a variety of marine life.We also operate fishing charters year round from Merimbula. We have daily 5hr Reef Fishing Charters, 3hr Family Fishing during school holidays and during the Game Fishing Season we operate 8hr Game Fishing Charters. Private Charters can also be organised by contacting our office.

“Fab whales and fab staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

Absolutely fantastic trip - such a lovely crew and they really went out of their way to make sure everyone was happy (even offered everyone on the boat tea & coffee!) So knowledgeable about the whales and their migration pattern - a wonderful trip and very respectful to the whales not getting too close but definitely close enough to photograph - also they put up photos of each trip incase ya miss all the action on your own camera - dress warm and seasickness tablets are a must if you ever get seasick as it's an open ocean tour
I'd love to go again :-)

“Awesome Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2014

This was my first whale watching experience, came out with the kids and a few others.
We had a ball, got to watch a whale wave, play and breach the whole time we were out. It is definitely an awesome experience and I recommend these guys. Awesome staff, very friendly and helpful.

“Whale Watching from King Street Wharf”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2014

Been on many whale watching trips from Sydney, Port Stephens and 2 weeks in Tonga - so we have some experience. This was by far the best we have done in Australia. Medium size boat so not too many people, excellent price, friendly and helpful staff. The best thing was they are QUIET - so many of the other trips the staff do not stop talking - so it is great to enjoy the whales in a peaceful environment. We saw a couple of breaches and many tail splashes and 'mugging' - the whales came right up to, and under the boat. Unlike other boats we have been on, once we found our whales we stayed with them and observed them for almost 2 hours - rather than constantly heading off every 20 minutes to find a different pod. You can take on your own food and drinks, and they sell nothing on board so you don't feel like you are being asked to spend more money. They even post their pictures up to facebook so you can download them and pretend you took them yourself ! They have a photographer on every trip - saves spending the entire time looking through an iphone screen. Would absolutely recommend and we will be going again.
