I spent 1 month studying the fish at Neds Beach for university. If you are thinking of feeding the fish please don't. This fish had cancerous growths on their bodies, liver cancer, stomach ulcers and malnutrition from being handfed foods such as bread. Touching the fish removes the mucus covering the fishes body, resulting in bacterial infections.
Feeding the fish also causes abnormal behavior of the fish and excess nutrients from the food promote algae growth, which kills the beautiful coral.
Neds Beach is one of the most beautiful places in the world. If you feel an uncontrollable desire to feed the fish please use the approved fish pellets provided.
Thank you and enjoy this beautiful place.
