“Going downhill”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

My husband and I frequent this Hibachi, but we've noticed in the past year or so, the restaurant is going downhill. Tonight was no exception. The restaurant was half empty but we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. The decor in the restaurant at first blush looks nice, but after looking more closely, the place could use a makeover. The fish pond in the lobby is cloudy and looks terrible. Carpets are stained and frayed. Wood trim around the restaurant is chipping and needs to be painted. Ceiling tiles are blackened from all the smoke from the tableside cooking. Our food was good, but that's only because of our chef, Mr. toyota. He gets a 5-star rating from us, and he is our favorite chef at this restaurant. In prior years, we used to be able to request Toyota as our chef, but the management no longer will accommodate our requests. Isn't that why you go to a restaurant in the first place... for the food the chef cooks? Granted, all the food is the same, but each chef adds their own little touches. Plus Mr. toyota is speedy behind the grill. Some chefs are way too slow at this Hibachi. I think its time for us to find a new restaurant. Guess we should have gone to Henry's Chinese restaurant on Krewstown Road in NE Philly tonight. Now they have great food, although their decor could use a facelift too. Lastly, Hibachi is pretty pricy. We try to go only when we have a Buy One Get One Free coupon. That's a nice savings of $25.

“Terrible service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

Came here couple times because is closed to my new house and I do t know the area yet, we only had the hi achi was it was great the first time , but the second time the chef was not as good as the first one. Is a bar in the front entrance and where you can wait for your table and is very disorganized with boxes everywhere and is a fou gain with some fish and the water looks dirty , the service from the waitresses it needs some trainning, that is all I can say it seems like they don't care about their customers.

“NOT a place for sushi!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

Went to this place last night for dinner with the family. Parents ordered hibachi, my sister and I went for the All-You-Can-Eat sushi. Big mistake! Even if the sushi had been amazing (which it was not), the service was so horrendous, I would never eat there again.

The hibachi eaters were almost finished before our first sushi rolls appeared. Rather than bringing pieces to the table as they were ready, the sushi chef made the decision to hold the platters until everything was ready on the plate. What purpose did that serve? Perhaps they do that so you'll just get tired of waiting and leave, and not eat much sushi? Which is about what happened as we were there almost 2 1/2 hours! It took 45 minutes to get served, and then it wasn't very good. Edamame was watery, so was obviously frozen. The White Tiger Roll had a charred taste to it. The rest was "OK."

The waitress was one of the worst ever. She did not know any of the items, and had to keep going to ask. My dad had to ask 3 times for something to drink, and in the course of our 2 1/2 hours, water glasses were not refilled even once.

The hibachi looked good, and portions are extremely generous, but those eating it said the meat was tough and didn't like the fried rice. The flavor of the shrimp was good though. My parents would have done well to share, so if you go here, that's the thing to order and not the sushi. Just expect to wait. But my suggestion is go somewhere else. For the money, there are much better places.

Absolutely fun place to eat, food is good and not a bad value. Stick with the grill, sushi is not the best.

“Fun and Yummy!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 9, 2013

This is a great family exerience: the chefs are very winning and kids love their tricks like flipping food to us and turning us into trained seals! The food was the best I have had in one of these types of places, and there are lots of options. Plus easy parking. Have gone many times.
