“Second time there”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

We didn't take the breakfast option and were pleased to avoid the queues. The nearby Saltbean cafe was cheaper and nicer. The bed was a bit soft, the pillows not great and some of the poolside furniture needed a repair, but to point other faults would be to carp.
We again had a great time. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms comfortable and the beach/pool set up is outstanding. Our kids are probably a bit too old to come with us now, so we're looking forward to a third holiday there, this time sans kids and not during school holidays.

I have to disagree with the last review, we have just returned yesterday (30th Jan) from Peppers, we were due to check out on 28th, however due to cancelled flights had to stay 2 extra nights. The reception staff were fantastic rebooking the same room for us at the discounted rate we had already paid for the previous 10 nights and we were staying with 3 young children, so not to have to more rooms was great . The breakfast although busy was excellent, on the mornings we did have to wait for a table it was only a few minutes and there was always something to eat or drink available while you waited. Both my husband and I commented on how well the breakfast was set out and how many staff were on hand to clean tables and refill the food and drink. The resort itself is lovely, Salt Village is great and has an amazing feel and I have to give your staff full marks for the customer service skills and their friendly manner, from reception through to the cleaners, Season restaurant staff, everyone of them were great to deal with. Well done Peppers, can't wait to come back.

Our stay co-incided with ex cyclone Oswald over the Australia Day long weekend which was no one's fault but was testing everyone's patience to the max. At check in we were told not to attend the buffet breakfast between the hrs of 7.30am and 9.00am as the resort was at a capacity that could not cope with the numbers. On our 2nd morning we arrived at 9.10am, no room, came back an hr later and had to gulp down food as staff were intent on packing up. Missed out on the croissants !!!! which were whisked away ,we were told,to accommodate the room service orders!! Breakfast hrs were not extended even tho they could not cope with their in house guest list. These "rules "were completely inflexible yet they expected us to be flexible! On check out despite the natural disaster in the form of flooding, dangerous road conditions etc, reception staff were overheard stating to a stressed mother with 3 young children that they were intending to apply the $20 per hour late check out fee, despite having over 50 standard rooms empty, no one arriving due to bad weather and families with tiny children trying to eke out a few extra hrs before departing the resort and setting out on treacherous roads. Staff were repeating company policy like parrots and not considering individual circumstances. No one appeared to have authority to waive this or bend some rules to accommodate a very unusual set of circumstances. Aside from this the resort itself is lovely, well located and we hope to return in better weather and off peak. Management, please take note , a review of your processes accompanied by some staff training in customer service ( some staff need this far more than others..)would be a good investment.

We stayed at Peppers Salt for 4 nights over Christmas which was so relaxing and peaceful. We stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment which was spacious and very comfortable. We were told the resort was at full capacity but at no time did it feel like it. There was always plenty of room by the 2 pools and staff were always friendly. It's in a lovely location with a number a restaurant choices within walking distance, a small supermarket so you can get supplies easily. The beach is also not far and it's a great beach.

Room Tip: We liked the room overlooking the park, it was nice to sit on the balcony and watch the going ons

We have just returned from another lovely stay - just as nice as the first time we stayed.

We didnt have a great journey up from Sydney and were very late arriving, the reception staff were lovely and friendly as usual and one man (sorry I cant remember his name) made the lovely effort to find extra milk for my boys bottles as the IGA had closed, its gestures like his that make this resort a pleasure to stay in.

Rooms were lovely and the cleaning staff efficient and friendly, the only slight negative was our neighbours who continued to flout the non smoking regulations, but again the reception staff did their best to stop this.

Resort pool is just beautiful for the whole family, and kept immaculate.

Thank you for another lovely stay.

Room Tip: the 2 rooms apartments with plunge pool are lovely and spacious great for the larger families.

We took a 1brm spa apartment and stayed for 3 nights. Great location right on the beach with a variety of eateries just downstairs. 40 mins drive to Byron, Mt Warning or Gold Coast. Rooms were clean, well appointed and had everything we needed, and the resort as a whole was very nice.

it's official, we've begun to never holiday anywhere else. we recently stayed at Peppers at Kingscliffe and again had the most amazing family holiday. The accommodation is modern, spacious and beautiful. the rooms are serviced every day by the friendliest of staff. A friendly man came around the pool every afternoon offering me samples of the cocktail of the day and when I inevitably said yes please! promptly bought me back a jug of the delicious drink. the resort beach pool is huge and the kids just love it. there are restaurants galore just across the park and a patrolled beach at your doorstep. if you have the money to splurge, there is also a divine day spa attached to the hotel. you literally don't have to get back in the car once you arrive as everything you could possibly need is right there. It's heaven.

Room Tip: ask for a room facing the lagoon pool.
