I'm loathe to say bad things about this motel because the owners are so lovely but I'm afraid the rooms fall far short of expectations.
As someone mentioned it is older style decor and furnishings etc. This can't be denied. What really put us off was the state of the shower, the mould and black grout was incredible for a motel. We were lucky enough to have a room with a private courtyard, great for a morning coffee in the jungle. At sundown the battle with the mozzies was relentless. I thought the courtyard light wasn't working but as it turned out it was just so full of dead bugs the light was struggling to emanate. The room was 'clean' could have been cleaner. Surprised when asked by housekeeping one morning if I wanted our room refreshed, I thought that this service was usual anyway, apparently I had a choice.
Didn't try the food, only continental delivered to your room the night before available. Not my thing but may be handy for early morning travellers.
All in all, had we not prepaid we would probably have left early. The stay itself wasn't excruciating but it wasn't pleasant either. We were in room 4. We won't be back sorry to say.

We stayed here overnight after a week travelling in Queensland so were able to compare the value for money aspect.. We stayed in much better accommodation in Brisbane and regional Queensland for the same price or less. However, Kingscliff is a relatively expensive place to stay which makes this motel worth considering for an overnight stay. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet and very clean, and the hosts were friendly.

Cleanliness and attention to detail in a friendly and calm environment. The bed was really comfortable, well made with fresh clean linen. The pool was warm and so relaxing. Great value and would return.

we just stayed overnight, terrible room, very ugly exposed brick walls. they are asking gold coast prices and serving up 1 star caravan park standards, hard uncomfortable beds. no milk or even powdered milk available. Female staff incredibly rude, male tried but the female a bit strange.

Room Tip: Go somewhere else...dont waste your time or money

Some motels either roll or fold the bath towels in a fancy manour then spoil it all by placing them
on a bed spread that has had suitcases or people sitting on them that leave unpleasant odours.
A disgusting practice! Not at this motel. No terrible dog odours (some people are allergic to dogs)
but a nice clean place to stay. Ray and Lorraine are very friendly and obliging, and whilst they
are not the only people like that in the motel business, they seem to be passionate about the
things they do well. This is not the first time I have stayed there and it will definitely not be the
last. Oh yes, the towels are nicely presented in the bathroom where they should be. For all the
things that really matter, this place is definitely good value for money.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to be nice and quiet.

All up for the price we paid we were happy with the say. Owners were very nice, very fresh rooms, bathrooms mostly new but the shower heads dont give you might presure.

Great location.

O and did I meantion the price, for the $100 for a single night this was perfect level between slumming it and paying for views that you might never look at.

We had the best of both worlds when we stayed here. The location was terrific (only a block back from the beach) and the motel itself was better than expected also. The rooms are very well appointed and the pool...well...what more do you need when it comes to kids - big and small alike. It was great to fall into after a hard day's playing at the beach. The new hosts, Ray and Lorraine were really lovely and friendly and the rooms were exceptionally clean. The Austar option was also a blessing when we were all exhausted by the end of the day. We had breakfast on our second morning and regretted not having it the first also. You can't go past a hearty home cooked brekky when you have a big day in the sun planned - and especially when you don't have to cook it yourself. All in all a great stay and we will definitely go back again - and hopefully soon.
