“Pretty good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Stay here once a year while visiting family nearby. We were in a different section this time to previous years, in the south eastern corner off Shoalhaven St.

As fans of my reviews will know, the comfort and welfare of my vehicle is my main concern when choosing accomodation. We were advised to park in the carpark off Shoalhaven St, which i didn't know existed. It's a pretty good carpark, bit tight to drive around, but has some nice single spots between poles and walls etc, so it's pretty good, and another great option if the other car park is full, or the good spots are taken up.

Room was ok, not sure if this section is a bit older than the other area we normally stay in, or if after another year, it's starting to look a little tired. But it was very clean, which is the main thing. Also had some ocean views which were nice, not that we spent much time in our room during the day.

Only issues we had were the blind let a lot of sun in in the mornings. Not too good if you want a sleep in. And we had been up early on the first day, so went to bed early and there was a lot of noise coming from the restaurant. We're pretty heavy sleepers, but if you're a light sleeper and you're there on a Saturday night, maybe ask for a room in a different area.

Bed was an actual King, or the join in the middle wasn't as noticable, so that's good. Been one of my gripes with this place in the past.

We had a package which included breakfast and a $50 voucher for the restaurant. Breakfast was pretty good. Busy on the Sunday morning, they were having trouble keeping up with the hot food. Monday was much quieter, but it meant the hash browns were a bit soggy. Hard to please aren't i? They do have a pancake machine which my wife loves.

Had dinner one night in the bar/restaurant. My wife had a headache so we just had a quick bite, burger for me which was very nice, and nacho's for the wife which were a bit soggy, too many beans. Service was good, quick and friendly.

Staff were all very good, pleasant, helpful etc.

Will most likely stay here again next year, although we are noticing it is getting quite expensive now. We first chose to stay here as it was cheaper and better than most of the offerings in Wollongong, but i'm starting to wonder whether that is still the case. Will try to visit at a more off-peak time next year perhaps.

Room Tip: If you're a light sleeper and staying on a weekend ask for a room away from the restaurant. Be...

Super clean, quiet room with a great bed and lovely linens provided an excellent night's sleep. There were double sliding glass doors to the balcony making our room extra quiet. The bath was lovely and very clean, but not too functional. There were only open wire shelves and a very tiny pedestal sink so there was no place to put any personal items. The glass shower door had a large gap in the hinged area which allowed water to splash onto the floor. No shaving/makeup magnifying mirror.

Plenty of free underground parking, but no free WiFi. Location is excellent for walking to the Blowhole, shopping and restaurants. We enjoyed the numerous items offered on the buffet breakfast, and our breakfast service was good. Dinner was average, but okay. Reception staff was helpful, efficient and friendly. We considered the Sebel a good value for the price, and we reserved through the hotel just a couple of days in advance.

Try the Thai Restaurant across from the quarry house shops and below the League Club. Seemed to be a local favorite and we had a great dinner there.

We recently stayed overnight here while attending a wedding at the same hotel Reservations were made some months earlier, here I tried to use the online facitlity, didn't work, but was able to book by phone. No problems with reservations, wedding went very smoothly. Small details about hotel could be improved, no bench space in bathroom, security in elevators didn't work, we never needed to use cards to enter or use the lift. Buffett breakfast quite good, but even at 8am, some items were quite cold, the coffee was appalling. room for improvement.

We stayed here for two nights (wed/thur) and were given a free upgrade to a room with a balcony. We thought it was very reasonably priced compared to the cabins that were on offer at the nearby camping grounds.
The rooms were a good size and clean. The staff were very friendly, and we enjoyed the buffet breakfast. It was in a great location close to the shops and blowholes. The Blue Diamond bar had a good view out to sea (where we saw a whale), with $10 happy hr cocktails. Free covered parking too.
The only negative I can think of was it would be nice if WiFi was free and available in the rooms. Would I stay here again? Definitely.

Kiama has always been by favourite place on the South Coast and now with the Sebel, it is even better.
The location is excellent, close to the harbour and just far enough to be off the main street.
The rooms are very well set out, comfortable and very private with their own balconies.
We normally stay in motels or council run caravan parks, who can charge you double the amount for. accommodation, in a luxury cabin, which is way out of town.

Mid week stay for business. Reception staff were great. Studio room facing the road was huge and could have been better furnished, lacked a few things to make it comfy - especially if one was on an extended visit.

Midweek free entertainment was on offer, which was good.

Breakfast included, coffee I paid extra for was awful and was so hot it burnt my mouth. As a GHA Platinum member I was given a massive plate of cheese and fruit which was yummy along with other perks. I'm not a huge fan of Accor properties, so it's a shame Sebel have now been included within their portfolio and my GHA will no longer be recognised here.
