“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2011

All the previous reviews are quite correct. This is one of the best economy overnight stays we have experienced in Australia. Queen bed is fine. TV has movies available. Internet access by Wire is free and if you don't have a wire the manager will lend you one. Breakfast is brought to your room from 6:30am. Cost is very economical and choice is great. Staff were really friendly and welcoming describing all the features Karuah has to offer. Regrettably, Karuah doesn't have much to offer the average tourist but it does make for a great overnight stop on you way along the coast.

Room Tip: All rooms looked great to me so no problem here

I stayed here only one night for a quick stopover. The owner was very friendly and helpful at all times, while booking, when checking in and leaving. The room was very clean and really nicely renovated. The location is SO quiet. I would highly recommend this as a place to stop, close enough to the highway to be convenient but far enough to be peaceful. Also very reasonably priced.

We used to stay at the Karuah Motor Inn before the Hwy by-pass but a recent visit made us realise what an absolute gem we had been missing out on and just the best value on the entire coastal run.

We used the Motel for an overnight stay when heading south instead of our usual stop in Heatherbrae. Found the new owners to be the friendliest we have ever encountered in all our years of travelling.

The rooms have been tastefully updated; some well up to 4 star standard and beds very comfortable. It was a pleasant surprise to find a mini bar plus snacks in our room. Prices for the mini bar most reasonable plus the complimentary plunger coffee much appreciated. Pay TV channels and movie channels all available.

The greatest value of all was the superb cooked breakfast for just such a bargain price. Usually not all that keen on motel breakfasts but this was undoubtedly not to be missed – we were rather impressed.

Karuah is such a pretty spot to stay over particularly now it has been by-passed and is only a short drive off the Highway. Great place for the famous Port Stephen’s oysters!! Had dinner at the local RSL which is just a short walk up the road and for $15 had freshly caught that day whole grilled Schnapper, chips and salad – great taste and value!!!

Was originally going to book our night on one of the last minute sites but found that the motel has its own site with direct booking for the same price so best way to go.
Can only highly recommend the Karuah Motel and definitely will be stopping there again soon, can’t wait to experience such top hospitality and that great breakfast.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to book the Karuah Motel for a one night stay in February. It was a last minute booking as we were visiting Tea Gardens.

For the price charged we weren't expecting anything except the most basic of rooms, but the owners have obviously gone to great expense to update the rooms in the last couple of years. Everything was spotless, the room was great, flat screen TV with some Foxtel channels, fridge, and we were asked if we wanted fresh milk on arrival - a very nice touch. The owners were really friendly - we couldn't have asked for more.

We didn't have the breakfast, but for the modest price we certainly will next time. If you're looking to stay anywhere in and around the Tea Gardens area for the weekend, then this place comes highly recommended. Without doubt it's the best motel we've ever stayed at value-wise. We'll be returning very soon.

We chose this inn because of it's proximity to the Port Stephens harbour but also to the Pacific Highway. It provided us with family accommodation for under $100. The room was small but packed with EVERYTHING we needed. Breakfast can be ordered and delivered to your room for just $6! And that's everything not just the room service charge! We couldn't even eat all we ordered. The staff were so helpful. My daughter had been sick in the car so we needed to do washing when we arrived. I asked if they had a line and pegs. Their response 'we'll tumble dry it for you'. Exceptional value for money in this sleepy little village.

We were looking for accommodation in the area as we were attending our son's cricket carnival. This motel is the best value motel in the area. A very restful nights sleep away from the highway. Room was spotlessly clean and hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Best value hot breakfast for $6.00 . It is very refreshing to get such great service at a budget price.
We would definitely stay again.
