“Well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

11AUD to visit some bush sounds bad value, but the sight of wallabies beside the road and the Botanical Gardens gave value for money. Go to Murray beach, Governor Head and the old lighthouse.

“Outstanding natural beauty.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

If you love being outdoors at beautiful beaches, bushwalking, scuba diving, snorkelling, surfing, camping, picnicking or wandering through botanic gardens, then you must visit Booderee National Park because it has all of this.
The park is well maintained and you will find numerous toilet facilities and picnic areas with gas bbq's at some of the beaches.
Your first stop should be at the information centre at the parks entrance. They can provide you with maps and details of anything you are interested in.
It is a great spot for bird watchers. The lookout at the old lighthouse is perfect for spotting whales and dolphins.
Outside of school holidays you can find you are the only person wandering along the beaches or walking trails. During school holidays though it can become very busy and you need to book if you want to camp.
The beaches on the Jervis Bay side are excellent for young families as do not have waves. But please note that none of the beaches are patrolled by lifesavers.
There is an entrance fee and I believe the ticket expires after 48 hours. Or you can buy a season pass which is much cheaper if you intend to visit regularly.
I would recommend the park for families with young or older children, groups of friends or solo visitors.

“Utter peace and tranquility”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2013

I loved this area and glad we booked accomodation for a few days which gave us time to explore the amazing beaches and the bush. We stayed in a place called Kullindi Homestead which was very basic and quite run down but the setting certainly made up for it. We spent hours in the evening sitting on a little pier with a glass of wine watching the sun go down, I really loved it. There are lots of fab beaches to explore and the waters are so clear and inviting. We saw lots of kangaroos, wallabys and pelicans and despite my initial reservations about the accomodation, I am so glad to have found the place.

“Australia showcase”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

A distance from Nowra but worth the effort as it is showcasing Australian bush at its best. A small entry fee will provide all day access. Bring a picnic and do not bother with the very expensive shop at Jervis Bay village.
