“Invitation to simply relax and enjoy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2013

As you walk to reception with such an inviting view across the lawns and hear the beach beckoning beyond the trees, you simply relax and enjoy. The friendly welcome by staff, 'make yourself at home' feel in the room, peaceful and spacious surrounds and close proximity to the cafes and shops make "Friday on the beach" a place to highly recommend for a short stay.

Booked last minute last week. Arrived 10am and advised that room would not be avail until the usual 2pm. They had us in before noon. Lovely huge room for me, 13yr o and 8yr o. Absolutely perfect positioning could not have been better. My new secret, and i'm not giving too much away as the extra's were a huge surprise. Quiet location, and lovely lovely staff.

Room Tip: We booked the KIng Family (1 King & 1 Db Sofabed) rm no.19.

I stayed on a weekend, so it was $300 a night. To me it seems like a lot for such a simple place. The location is great, close to everything, but it's not like you can see the ocean from your room or anything - you are a good 200m from the water, behind trees and dunes.

There is no pool. Rooms are very simple, bathroom is a tight squeeze and quite dirty. Sliding door to bathroom is heavy and very noisy - you'll wake anyone in the room if you open/close it. Bed was large but not especially comfy, simple blinds did not block sunlight at all - you are woken at dawn with the sun in your eyes. Unless you like people peering into your room via the balcony window, romance is off the menu too with the way noise travels through the walls.

Staff were friendly from the little I had to do with them. Chocolate brownies on check-in were a nice touch I guess.

For what I paid I expect more to be honest. I know Byron Bay is expensive, but in non peak times I don't think it's justified. You can go to the Whitsundays or a 5 star hotel these days for the same amount and have a real luxury escape. I'd rate this as being a good motel, nothing more.

Room Tip: I'd prefer the ground floor, no advantage in having to climb the stairs.

Best location in byron bay - walk out your door, across the lawn and you're on the sand. The rooms aren't very fancy though - quite basic and comparable to your average small town motel. You won't be spending much time in your room with the beach, cafes and pubs so close.

Unfortunately only spent one night at this hotel; arriving late and having to leave early, so don't have a lot to share.
The hotel has the most amazing position being literally on the beach yet a short stroll to all the cafe's and quirky places Byron has to offer.
Our room was much more spacious than I had imagined, clean and supplied with the famous home made date cake.
No foxtel, but who goes to a hotel to watch tv? We did not enquire about wifi.
The toiletries were of a very high quality, as was our bedding.
The decor was modern, clean and in good taste.
Shower was great with good quality water pressure, plenty of hot water and good quality fittings to ensure adequate water flow.
The ONLY downside to this hotel was that the blinds didn't quite close fully (venetians) and a light positioned outside our room lit it up a bit at night.
The lady at reception was helpful and friendly, leaving the key hidden for us as we were running late.
I read some of the negative reviews on here before booking so was really expecting something average to below average - but I really couldn't fault the place (except the lighting at night) - it was actually so much more than I expected for the price.

After booking online into a B&B which turned out to be not what we expected, we found Friday's On The Beach. A great location right on the beach, a very comfortable spacious room and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Week day rates are very competitive ( not much more than our poor standard B&B), but weekend rates soar dramatically; but we were so happy with our accommodation that we were prepared to stretch the budget. Breakfast on the balcony was a great way to start the day, the king size bed was very, very comfortable and a great way to end the day. We will definitely stay there again when in Byron Bay.

Room Tip: All rooms face the beach, so no need to worry about location of room.

Location is great but accommodation is over priced for what is basically just a simple room with no bells or whistles. Parking is also a problem as there are only limited places at the hotel. It is a nice enough place but i would not go back in a hurry.
