“NOT WHAT ITS CRACKED UP TO BE”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2012

The room and setting really capture imagination and I must admit it was clean and quiet.
Anna had quoted a daily room rate through the information centre and I had booked accordingly.
Once she had taken my money, she told me that they didn't do breakfast, but I could buy some at the shop at the end of the street. What ever happened to the "breakfast" part of the B&B. I didn't argue as I was keen to explore Byron - and soon found a few placces in town with FABULOUS breakfasts, but at a cost! ALso the pool which looks so lovely in her advertising was very dirty and behind her fence and obviously had not been cleaned or used for weeks if not months. After a couple of days, Anna said she would HAVE to put the rate up as the week-end rate was higher. The rate she quoted far exceeded what I would pay for a room with all she had to offer, plus breakfast and full service, so naturally I move on. No one else had been staying there all week - and now Annas greed for extra money meant that she would now be completely empty for the week-end, so she was the one who lost out. Recommend? Recommend that you stay elsewhere!

Room Tip: ASK about breakfast. ASK about the pool. ASK about the room rates. Make sure Anna is straight wit...

It was a lovely place, our room was excellent and the privacy was amazing. Close walk to town, but far enough out of the bustle to sit back on the balcony with a glass of wine and enjoy. We stayed for 6 nights and didn’t want to leave. I highly recommend for couples looking to get away and spend some time together. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat. :)

We stayed at Anna's for 3 days and liked it very much, the rooms were clean and comfortable.
its is just the right distance from town as to be quiet, and there is a handy cafe at the end of the street just 30 second walk .
would stay again ;)

Anna's has 3 rooms all with outdoor undercover verandah facing nice lawn and garden through double doors from the room, a lovely outlook. Off street parking outside room very convenient. Anna's is in a suburban street off main road so very quiet and peaceful. Room is spacious but very sparsely decorated however everything you need for a short term stay. Large bathroom with good shower, plenty of hot water and good pressure. Swimming pool on site. Town is only short drive away or bus at corner or 10 minute walk to RSL for moderate priced meal. Very good value and great hosts.

So many times we have gone away to come home wrecked because of lack of sleep, not so at Anna's because it was so lovely and quiet and we never heard the other guests although we saw their cars - heaven even if it was very basic and looks in need of some revamping. Never met Anna as she was sick but being left to own devices was perfect for us. Only comment would be that guests should be requested to park courtiously as we had the last room which was the disabled room and had a parking space almost at the door which we could not use the second night due to the other 2 cars parking badly and using up half the disabled spot as well.

My partner and I decided last minute on the Saturday morning of Anzac weekend that we wanted to get out of the city for one night - having called around numerous bed and breakfasts in Byron with no luck we resorted to an internet search engine which indicated that Anna's had availability. We checked the Trip Advisor reviews and were a bit dubious about booking given the bad reviews on the site, but as we thought we'd give it a shot anyway...

I must say - I struggle to believe that the negative reviews on here are relating to the same place, we had a wonderful stay and wanted to write this review in order to give Anna's the praise it deserves.

Anna was friendly, welcoming and helpful and our room was beautiful, bright and airy, exactly what you would expect from looking at the website - we even took our own photos to prove it!

There is a gorgeous four-poster queen sized bed, built-in wardrobes,a tv, a small fridge, double patio doors out to a private veranda, air con and a ceiling fan. The bathroom is very large and well appointed with plenty of natural light and a lovely walk-in shower. There is also a hairdryer, tissues, soap etc and plenty of towels (which were soft enough for us!)

A notice in the room explains that most guests prefer to go into Byron for breakfast but that a continental breakfast can be provided for $10 which consists of toast, croissants, tea/coffee, cereal etc. We chose to head into Byron for breakfast (and why wouldn't you, given the fantastic dining options for breakfast in Byron...) but $10 for the convenience of having breakfast on your veranda if you're in a hurry seemed reasonable enough.

There were adequate tea and coffee provisions in the room and even two little snack size chocolate bars which were much appreciated after the long drive!

The bed and pillows were comfortable and the area is quiet so we were not disturbed in our sleep at all. We didn't use the pool but it looked just like the photos on the website. Anna's is also located within easy walking distance to Byron (about 15 - 20 mins at most) and the walk is pleasant, even at night.

My partner and I have travelled extensively around Australia for work and business and we found Anna's offered great value for money. All in all, we had a fantastic stay and wouldn't hesitate in booking to stay there when we next visit Byron.

I am sure that there are places in Byron that offer fancier tv's, bigger pools and fluffier towels but you would be hard pushed to find it for this price.

Please ignore the negative reviews on here and visit Anna's - you won't be disappointed.

We had a comfortable, relaxed stay at Annas. Its only a short distance stroll to the town centre and we found it casual and easy, which is what we like. I would recommend Annas friendly service and clean private rooms to all.
