Such a great and welcoming place, felt almost like home. The manager, Marty was an excellent host and my room was lovely with a star ceiling that lid up at night. I spent the first night alone and it felt safe and secure, the rest of the time was with friends. Bamboo cottage is situated in a very quiet area, but still just a 5 minutes walk from the main street of Byron Bay. I would highly recommend Bamboo Cottage.

In fact I don't want to spoil the surprise for any of you out there who have not experienced Bamboo Cottage, because an "experience" it is, and a wonderful one. If, like myself, you have stayed in a myriad of different hotels and B&B,s during your travelling years then the element of surprise is hard to come by and much cherished when you find it. Your holiday in the lovely Byron Bay can only be enhanced by your stay at Bamboo Cottage...in fact you may find you experience a little less of Byron than you had planned after you have been swept through the doors of the cottage with a wonderful welcome form the host, Marty and his assistants Miguel and Chiquita (identitiy revealed on arrival )....the cottage (and the company) iis quite simply too delightful to leave. Enjoy your stay x

We have been looking for a place to stay with our dog in Byron Bay and have now found a great place at Bamboo Cottage. We have visited 3 times and been very satisfied every visit. Marty is a wonderful host, who makes you feel very welcome from first introductions. It's becoming more and more popular so it is imperative to book as early as possible, particularly if you want to reserve a specific room or the free-standing cottage. The location is perfect with only a short walk into the centre for restaurants and shops. The only downside with the accommodation is that it's not very soundproof in the main house.

Room Tip: The rooms on the outside.

When we arrived at the cottage there was gentle music playing and a friendly welcome from the gentlemen living in as a concierge, with a parakeet on his shoulder. The whole place was very homely and nicely decorated with a Bali-like vibe.

The room was spacious and comfortable with a clean en-suite, some verandah space and all basic conveniences. There is even free wifi.

The only slight problem, which prevents a 5 star review, was that noise spread a little and the main living areas were audible from 8am or so, even though it was only gentle music and hushed conversation. For those looking for a lie-in, it may not be perfect but if you're keen to get up early and hit Byron, it will suit you just fine.

Room Tip: The Poinciana room was closest to the main reception area and so a but noisy.

'Bamboo Cottage' is a delightful weatherboard house located just off the main street of Byron Bay offering down-to-earth solace and relaxation, and warm hospitality. The manager, Marty, is an excellent host, and the impromptu dinner parties with the other guests on the patio were a real highlight of our stay. If you like cats, dogs, and parrots - this place is indeed a "Slice of Heaven". You might even get a friendly game of chess on the permanent chessboard in the living room! We had a great time and would definitely stay here again!
