“Value for Money, Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2014

Motel was value for money. Rooms were tidy and the beds were fine. Close to the main centre of town and down the road from the beach. The staff were really helpful and recommended a lot of restaurants and things to do.

Spent 4 nights at the Byron Bay Side and thought it was a great find. Yes it is quite dated but the rooms were clean, pleasant and had all the amenities you needed including a laundry, kitchen and large balcony.
The location is good, you won't have a view but it the motel is quiet as it's a few streets back from the main Byron drag (although you're still only about a 5 min walk from the main bars and restaurants).
The staff were really friendly and welcoming and when I requested to be moved to a room with afternoon sunlight they sorted me out no worries.

Sure this motel is dated but it was staffed by friendly staff, was very clean, was very reasonably priced [we got a double for $120 a night] and best of all it was central to Byron Bay so once we parked the car undercover it stayed there. Really what more do you want if you plan to be out and about and only be in your room to sleep? Truly a little gem.

Room Tip: Not for those wanting a view.

A group of us stayed here for one night. Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms spacious and clean. Good available facilities - kitchen and laundry. Location perfect - at the back of main street, but easy walking distance to everything including the beach. On site free parking. Only down sides were the free wifi not connecting, the shower pressure was inconsistent, mostly very low and drippy like, and one of rooms had a damp smell. Overall a pleasant and easy stay. Would defiantely stay again.

This motel is spotless! Nice size rooms with loads of space, and big balconies.
We really enjoyed our stay, and the staff were super friendly and helpful, and our room was given a daily service. Even when I accidentally broke one of the glasses in the rooms kitchen area, and took the remains to reception to apologise and pay for a replacement, they were very understanding and even thanked me for cleaning it up and bringing it to them! And told me accidents happen and there was certainly no charge. How wonderful :)
And a 10pm 'Keep the noise down" policy - brilliant!
We would highly recommend staying here, great for families and friends. AAA+++

If you don't have the earth to spend then this is perfect.
Our room a twin...had a leather couch, single bed, double bed and fold out bed. Kitchen is well stocked with handy pots and pans and all the other necessaries. The bathroom was clean...washing machine...dryer etc. Also as it's christmas day...we were given extra towels...as staff were off for the day. And...just wait for this....they wrote us a handwritten christmas card that came through our door on Christmas day. Now that is good service.

Sure our room isn't the brightest...the kitchen could do with a revamp. But you know what you are getting into and it exceeded some slightly nervy expectations (I booked late and didnt have much of a budget). Also...they have a car park...with a space for your room number. So nobody can nab it. Ideal.

It's also right in the heart of the fun times of Byron...well sort of. If you walk down Middleton street you are at the beach. A chilled part of the beach.

I would recommend this to my friends.

I should say our room didnt have aircon. I think I knew this, but I know they advertise some rooms as having it. They do have ceiling fans and an additional pedestal fan to boot.

It's like they thought of everything.

Room Tip: Try and get one with aircon if you can...if it doesn't affect the price. The balconies have fl...
