“Great coffee but disappointing food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2013 via mobile

The cafe atmosphere is great here, came here in a group of 4 and judging by the look of the menu and cafe, was really excited to have brekky here. Two of us had pork rolls which is like a bacon and egg roll (but way better), in mine I found two large pieces of egg shells then towards the end of the roll, there was a bit of plastic that looks like its come from the bacon packaging. Our friend who had the pulled pork later had an upset stomach. I have to wonder how much care went into the food behind the scenes, perhaps the pulled pork wasn't stored properly... Pity about the food but the coffee was great.

“A trip for the taste buds”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013 via mobile

Finally a cafe that serves food not normally found on the breakfast menu. Everything awakened the taste buds, full of flavour. Pulled pork & buckwheat with eggs, sausage & eggs with salsa verde & Parmesan, tabbouleh salad was to die for & above this the coffee was strong & yum & the atmosphere & staff were very funky & attentive, fun & a relaxed vibe. Definitely a must.

“Shocking service! Extremely dissapointed with the head chef.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

Thought we were happy with breakfast and putting the chefs terrible attitude to the side went back for lunch to find out they (still cooking) were apparently not cooking anymore. Shocking vibe and will definitely not be returning. People like this need to look at why they are running a hospitality business- key word here 'hospitality'...enough to turn a sweet meal sour.

“packed for a reason”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 17, 2013

The staff here are great Nigel served us the most lovliest coffee and the yummiest breaky.
The food and coffee is great the music is good, its a funky little cafe tucked away off main street.
Normal people, couples with dogs, mums and kids, suits as well I think they were evil real estate agents and models all mixed together enjoying good coffee and good food.
The nice waitress bought out a bowl of water for a couple of happy dogs who just came from the beach who gave her the biggest kisses for doing so.
love this place we came here after a bad experience at a restaurant the night before and this place made everything better.

“In crowd”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

When other cafes around this one are empty there is a line of people waiting to be seated at Bay Leaf Cafe - why? The coffee is great and the staff young and cool - the "in" crowd clearly go there - the food was good too..
