“Best stay in Australia”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2011

This is by far the best accommodation we have stayed in so far in Australia. Byron Springs offers an experience quite out of the ordinary, wich you should not miss out on if you get the opportunity to stay here. The location is great. A beautifull house in a nice garden. The staff and the owners of this excuisite establishment represents a truly warm and hartfelt way of being very proffesional in a tastefull manner, without seeming pretencious or too fancy for common travelers like us. This balance is difficult to create. We feel that we were invited in to there private home as part of the familly. Thank you so much Peter, Susan, Charlotte and Francesca.

Byron Bay Bluesfest held over easter is busy and accomodation very expensive. $210Aus per night for a basic room with basic ensuite in an upmarket backpackers was not good value. The place is marketed as an exclusive guest house and we did not find it like that at all. Very basic breakfast, the property is very tired and needs a really good clean, as it is situated near the main road is very noisy from road traffic, the rooms themselves are very noisy with wooden walls and floor -you could hear everything! The property has a nice outdoor area and should be marketed as a backpackers. Byron is great and the Festival was great!

The Guest house was not so good because the house´s floor is old and the house is dirty, especially the kitchen (we saw some cockroaches there).

The house is far from the city center and you need to walk more than 20 minutes. If you have car, it´s ok. They have car parking there.

There is free internet but is not with hight speed. This was the best part of the accommodation.

White and clean room with fan (ie no AC). Management create a friendly atmosphere and breakfast was good. Free wifi was nice, but reception was quite bad in our room.

No bathroom and toilet in the room lower the grade a bit, but on the other hand the shared bathrooms were clean and good so in this case I didnt care. However, a negative thing was the thin walls which made it easy to be disturbed by loud guests.

My daughter and I had a very comfortable and relaxed stay at Byron Springs Guest House. Bathrooms and bedrooms were thoroughly cleaned every day, breakfast was delicious and the location was perfect. We hired bikes and rode in and out to the beaches in 10 mins. Thank you!

Only stayed here for one night whilst passing through Byron Bay to Sydney, hostel is very nice and more like a B & B, very clean spacious rooms, minimal modern decor, nice outdoor eating area and TV and common room with kitchen. Free breakfast of cereal and toast and spreads is supplied also. Free parking, however the location is around 15-25 mins walk out of town/beach depending where your heading. Free pick up/drop off from the bus stop but I believe only during reception hours (up until 4pm), so we had to get a taxi when we left in the evening to the greyhound stop in town (about $10 to town), still its quiet and great for those who dont want a lively hostel. Free wifi but no other computer access.

The furniture in the room is very contemporary and minimal, high ceilings and clean white paint.
We were greeted by a staff (backpacker) who was very friendly and helpful at all times.
It has a kitchen, fridge and a common lounge area with TV.
The room walls are "thin" but we had a good sleep on the comfy bed.
The only downside was the floor boards which is quite noisy when you walk and this disturbs the other guests.
