“One of Byrons treasures”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013 via mobile

Some of the best meals I have had, many locals make similar claims. Learned to love duck because of this restaurant. Odd little place but great atmosphere and some of the best food around.

“flavoursome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

I was taken here by my daughter who is a local of the Byron shire. Not rich, its where she and her friends often eat out. Apparently, my not liking duck made me miss out on one of their house specials but all in all I found the meal tasty and good value for money.

“A great recommendation.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013

Having been recommended this restaurant by staff in the local bakery we were not disappointed. The staff were extremely friendly and informative about the dishes. The food was just excellent, so tasty and full of different flavours. So good in fact we returned for dinner the night before we left Byron Bay as we were assured a lovely meal. Definitely a must if you're looking for great food and at a very reasonable price too.

“Quirky but good”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

Dinner with my better half was quite nice here. Service could have been more attentive but was ok, portions were good sizes but the flavours were king. All of our food was very tasty and well cooked. Is byo for wine (the only Gewurztraminer the nearby bottle shop had) but the couple of cocktails we started with were ok standard for outside the cities. Could maybe do with deciding what it wants to be, at the moment seems to have quite a confused offering.

“Great service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

We dined here with long time locals on the recommendation of their daughter who is in the local hospitality industry. The oysters are fabulous; nicely stewing in the sauces without being overwhelmed. The duck spring rolls for starters were large and nicely done. The main portions were huge: we had wicked duck which was just ok for a house speciality; salmon which was dry; lamb shanks were a generous serving and superb, and finally the sizzling prawns with black bean sauce were a bit scanty. Byo and licensed. Didnt have room for dessert ....location is best at night in the sunken garden with tea lights giving a nicer atmosphere than daytime.
