This is our 4th year staying at San Michele in a deluxe room with the dinner, bed and breakfast option. On this occasion we stayed for 6 nights. The rooms are well equipped with suitable heating and electric blankets on all beds. There is also a large TV with DVD facilities and a wide variety of channels - great for the kids.
We have stayed here since our eldest was 18mths old. We now have a 5yr old and 3yr old who think the place is fantastic. They love the rural location with the cows, kangaroos and the horse as well as the fact there is plenty of room to run and play.
From a parents perspective it is a true holiday as you enjoy a lovely hot breakfast before heading to the snow and return to a 3 course home cooked meal when you are tired from your day skiing. With a menu that changes daily there is a variety of great meals to choose from. One of our favourites is the chicken breast with creamy Dijon and seeded mustard sauce. The meals are all very generous in size. The kids menu in particular is great. It not only offers the standard nuggets and fish and chips but also a variety of other home cooked meals (roast, spaghetti Bolognese). We particularly like the fact the kids are served real meals and not limited to nuggets each night.
Graham and his staff are always very helpful and friendly.
The added bonus is when you get snow at the resort and you wake up to fairy land. Our eldest still talks about last years snow (see photos). While we weren't that lucky this year we still had a great time and the boys loved skiing at Selwyn.
