“Stunning”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2012

Standing on the most southerly point of civilisation as we know it is one thing and Lizard is by no means the tacky tourist trap that you too often find at the end of long roads in the UK, so all good. However, Kynance Cove was truly stunning, with the added bonus that the clouds cleared to bathe it all in warm afternoon sunshine just after we arrived. Frankly, I could have stayed there until dark wandering between the great rocks, exploring the rock pools and little caves and just soaking up being in one of the most beautiful places in Cornwall, if not the country. We had to leave to get to a dinner date and I'm still not sure if I'd rather not have missed the dinner.

“Breathtaking beach, lovely walks.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

I visited the lizard and walked to Kynance Cove in January, even then the crashing sea was blue and the rocks jagged and green. The walk from the lizard peninsula was lovely and the quietness - it being mid january added too it.

Visited Kynance Cove again in September, on a sunny day and wow! The sea is so blue, I would say it was one of the most breathtaking beachs in the south west. We paid £3.50 to park this time - free to national trust members. We walked to the beach had a paddle, looked in the caves and watched the surfers.

Then decided to pop to the cafe for embarking on a walk around the coast - the cafe was a bit of a dissapointment - £3.90 for a ham baguette with no salad garnish. It may have been because it was a busy day.

From Kynance Cove we took in more of the Lizard Peninsula and walked all the way to another (quite inaccessible) beach. We were walking and exploring the area for around 3hours and when we returned to Kynance the tide had come in and we got to see the beach differently.

Recommend this beach for those that enjoy sitting and relaxing - Although check tide times! it also looked good for surfing - but not a lifeguarded beach. It is a small beach with lots of rocks, caves and interesting geology. It also a good place to park to start exploring the rest of this amazing coastline!

This is a beautiful and scenic part of Cornwall, not to be missed if you enjoy seeing the natural beauty of the Cornish coast. Kynance Cove is breathtaking whatever the weather. Whether you sit on the cliff top or down on the shoreline you cannot fail to admire the beauty of this place. Well worth a visit.

“Not for the unfit!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2012

Kynance Cove and the Lizard offer you brilliant coastal walks, at a risk to your health! But they are breathtaking and a pleasure to take on. You would be a fool not to take the opportunity.
