We had a warm welcome to the site and it is a very family friendly place, has lots of amenities and was a good base from which to explore Cornwall.
We used the swimming pool a few times, but as we were just out of season, it only opened at 10 a.m. and closed at 6, so couldn't use it before we went out, and just got about 30 minutes in after getting in.
We stayed in one of the cottages and whilst it was clean, comfortable and well equipped there 3 issues that meant we didn't really want to spend much time there.
1. The cottage smelt very damp when we got in, they had a humidifier going when we got in, but there were noticeable patches on the wall between the main room and the bathroom, which seemed to have a leak. "No biggie!" we thought just open the doors and windows and air it out, unfortunately, after a day or 2 the smell didn't leave and it took a long time for towels to dry out.
2. Wi-Fi: The site claims to have wi-fi throughout but you have to pay extra to use it (£10 a week) only 1 device at a time. The reception in our cottage was low, we were lucky if we ever got more than 2 bars, and it was very slow. I couldn't see an AP anywhere so couldn't see where the signal was originating.
3. TV reception, we have a 2 yr old so most evening were spent in, so we thought we'd watch the TV on a couple of evenings, this was extremely frustrating as the signal in both TVs (front and bed rooms) continually cut out, in the end we gave up. We would have watched iPlayer on the laptop, but again, the signal was weak so proved impossible.
As I said, a friendly place, good amenities, the cottages looked new, but I get the feeling we'd have been better camping there or in a caravan.
