“Recommended will visit again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2015

Visited here with my boyfriend at the start of January 2015. Another review said that they were not offered breakfast but if they had asked or visited the website they would have know that breakfast is not offered in certain months when there is not enough service. This was no problem as there is a local shop next door with most things you could want. We were free to use the back door and this was great as it gave us the freedom to come and go as we pleased without disturbing anyone. The room we stayed in was room one and it was lovely, clean, lots of space to unpack and a big bathroom, a shower, sink, toilet but lots of room to move :) we both agreed the bed is the comfiest we have ever slept on we wish we had had a look at the mattress! The view of the church just outside the window made it perfect. Staff came round every day offering more milks, tea, coffee etc. A basic room with a kettle, TV and wardrobes but probably the nicest B and B I have ever stayed in as it is decorated well. All of the staff are lovely and we had a good talk to some of them on the last night. Wish we had a chance to visit the pub more in the evenings but there's so many places to visit in Cornwall we travelled in our car, went our beautiful walks and ate delicious meals. The two nights we did get to get in the pub though the atmosphere is great and as it was January it was purely locals. I wish everyone was so friendly throughout the country! Great value friendly people and a stunning area even at the start of January! Will be coming back as soon as we can. Completely recommended!

Room Tip: Room one is beautiful and romantic for couples

im a little confused after reading other reviews about the three tuns, my husband keith and myself stayed there for 2 nights. the room was very clean and comfortable , very large clean bathroom with shampoo , soap and conditioner provided. we bought a cooler box with us with our milk in, as we have food allergys and tend to do our own breakfast in our room. But breakfast was not even offered to us and when we wanted to go out the next morning we had to leave by the fire escape as the door to downstaires was locked, so had we wanted a cooked breakfast we would have been very disappointed. when we got back later that day we paid for our room, again no mention of breakfast and. the next morning same again, only way out was by the fire escape with our suit case and computers as we was there on business. it felt like we was doing a runner without paying. was really strange way to run a business.

Room Tip: we had room 1 with a view of the chuch , we could hear the extrater fan but was turned of at 10pm.

The Landlord was very welcoming and helpful. He was very prompt to explain that there was live music going to be played on our second night. The music was very good and was not a problem when we went to our room.
The room was ok had all of the facilities that you require, although some little points could have been addressed, plug for the sink, a mirror near the hair dryer so that the extension lead did not have to be dragged across the room and eventually fail, no towel rails. The room was cleaned each day.
Breakfast was fine and well cooked. A pot of tea rather than a cup with a tea bag would have been nice. We would have preferred to have had a our breakfast on our own without the land lady talking all of the way through it. but she was only trying to be friendly and we did not want to offend her.
It was just about value for money but served it purpose as most of the other hotels or Inns in the area were fully booked or a lot more expensive

We tried to book a room in Falmouth with short notice, but had forgotten that it was Falmouth week. We found the Three Tuns via Late Rooms, it was described as being Helston which at 11miles from falmouth, would have been ok, it is in fact 11 miles from Helston , making a round trip of 44 to Falmouth where we wanted to be.
The family room we had was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was standard English that sets you up for the day.

Room Tip: Our room at the front overlooking the village square. I

Stayed for two nights in July (room 2) and really enjoyed the welcome and our stay
The room was clean and had plenty of cupboard space and draws, TV and tea/coffee facility's there was also free wi-fi but I could only get a phone signal (O2) at the bottom of the beer garden.
On the first night that we arrived we were not that hungry and were glad to see that the Village band were playing in the square and had a barbecue to raise funds and to help the pub closed the kitchen for the night. We got to hear the band the next night as they practice in the beer garden as this pub is the centre of the village and as such is involved in a lot of village life.
Breakfast is as you please Cereals, toast or anything cooked which was handy for us as we only wanted a small breakfast.
I would say that it is a little pricey but as accommodation is at a premium in the area and this is the place to stay it can be.

The owners are nice enough people, but fall well short of the mark with their accommodation. The place is scruffy and the room we were in had a large noisy kitchen extractor right outside the window (which overlooks the local graveyard). It also had peeling wallpaper. There was no atmosphere in the pub, except for sport on a large TV and a pool table. It was quiet on all three nights we stayed, which was a bit worrying as everywhere else we went was busy. This might be ok for a lot of people but was not our cup of tea. The landlord and his wife were friendly. The room was overpriced. The breakfast was average. The location excellent.

Room Tip: Dont book room1!
