“Fantastic place to stay !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Stayed here over the weekend as in the area for a friends wedding. What a fantastic place, we were so happy that we booked and would definately recommend it. The rooms were clean and bright and very comfortable, and the breakfast delicious. But what really made the stay was the welcome we had from the owners and staff - we were made incredibly welcome and they went out of their way to be kind and helpful to us - really lovely people. We are definately coming back to stay again as soon as we can!

We stayed at The Three Tuns for a couple of nights over the May bank holiday weekend, and really loved it! The owner, Chris was so lovely and helpful and went out of his way to make us feel welcome. The rooms were really comfortable, bright, sunny and clean and he was very nice when we were very hung over!

We would definitely go back and totally reccommend

Thanks for the great hospitality, Cala and Vin x

We had dinner at the Three Tuns on a couple of occasions during a recent week's stay in St Keverne. We had not tried it last year because of its less than wonderful reputation, but were let down by the White Hart and decided to try St Keverne's other pub. We found that there were new owners, who had only been there for a few weeks, and everyone was pleasant and helpful. The chef even did a meal for us even though we had arrived 20 minutes after his official closing time.He is an ex-Army chef and most certainly knows what he's doing. The food was excellent and plentiful, and good value. Please ignore any old, pre-new management reviews, this is now definitely worth a visit. Obviously we can't speak for the B & B accommodation, but everywhere downstairs seems very clean.

We were travelling around the area with my mother and stopped off for a light lunch. It was a disappointment that there was not a bar menu consisting of snacks, sandwiches etc. The landlord offered to make small portions off the lunch menu which was very considerate. We had two portions of sausage and mash with peas, and one garlic mushrooms off the starters. Not bad, but nothing to rave about.
It is understandable that the new owners had only been there a few weeks, but I would have thought that a bar menu would have been one of the first things to be put into place. Not everyone wants to sit down for a lunch when passing through.

Very clean, and we wish them well.

We made our second visit to the hotel since the new owners took over and it was great. The guys are really friendly and welcoming. The beer tasted good! We ate on 26th April, the Chef is spot on and catered really really well for my wife who is a strict vegetarian. He was willing to be really flexible with his menu for her. We will be back.

Ian and Linsey took us in when we were left without digs on the Lizard (due to a mix up our hotel had no room for us and our two children) We were in a real dreadful panic and after looking around and hearing good things about it we headed over to the Three Tuns and were absolutely delighted with how our holiday went from there. Ian and Lynsey made up the family room for us at short notice, and it was gorgeous! Clean and comfy and cosy, with lovely views out on to the square. We were exhausted but came down for our dinner and had a real treat of roast lamb, expertly cooked by Ian himself and then drinks with some of the local folks. We sat out in the beautiful beer garden, looking out onto the fields of St Keverne and it felt like a very special holiday, meeting lovely people, seeing the most incredible sunset and definitely feeling welcomed. We woke the next day to bird song and sore heads but luckily the Three Tun's breakfasts saved us! Beautiful! ( and I'm a real fussy wee git too being a good cook myself so I'm not talking daft, the food is ace!) Look out for the hogs pudding (I think that's what it's called)It's a local speciality and is like sausage but better! So, what else is there to tell you? Well, there are plenty of walks around this part of the world and Ian and Linsey kindly pointed them out to us. You can walk down to Coverack or Porthoustock. There are some incredible old churches with beautiful and tragic histories to hear about. Also we were fortunate enough to be visiting St Keverne at Ox Roast time which is a festival and really it is not to be missed. It involves an ox that is roasted over the day and lots of mad strong beer cálled Spingo and a brass band and a torch light parade and it is just the best place ever! Somehow, due to a mix up, we happily ended up in St Keverne, at Ian and Linsey's pub at Ox Roast time and it was incredible! They looked after us so well, they fed us and watered us and gave us the best holiday we've ever had! We'll be back!!

Room Tip: Ask Ian and Linsey where is best to kip if you are a light sleeper. We had no problems.
