5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

We spent two nights at Gwyndra. The reception by Linda was excellent and the room, with en suite bathroom, was extremely comfortable with everything one could wish for. The shower would be big enough for four! We are light eaters at breakfast so could not sample much of the range on offer, but what we ate was well prepared and Linda caters for individual needs - "How many poached eggs?". Gwyndra is about 150m from the station, so very handy, and it's a short and pleasant walk into the town centre. We would highly recommend this B&B and will use it again should we need a B&B in St Austell. We are a couple in our late sixties.

Room Tip: The room we had faced across the garden on to the main road outside, but was screend by beuatiful tr...

Charming and welcoming owners; comfy room; lovely breakfast. Especially good if travelling alone and by public transport as very close to station and bus stops to Eden and Heligan etc. St Austell is not a very picturesque place but a few passable places to eat within walking distance. I would unhesitatatingly recommend this B & B.

Room Tip: I had single occupancy of one of two double rooms at front of house

Gwyndra House was much closer to the station than I expected, which was just as well because it was raining when I arrived. Jackie and Jim were very welcoming and made me a much needed cup of tea as soon as I got there. The breakfasts were very good and included kippers as an option. Very few B&Bs seem to offer kippers so I was very pleased. I agree with possumaly about the coffee; very good and unlimited quantities. The bedroom was large, well furnished and looked as if it had been decorated recently. The fresh flowers were a nice touch.

My husband and I arrived after a short, easy walk from the train station in the pouring rain. Jackie and her husband greeted us warmly and offered us a hot drink to warm up. Jackie was very accommodating and had every bus schedule and tourist/information pamphlet you could ask for! She even knew the next several days' weather forecast and made some excellent recommendations of places to go. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very filling. The house is very conveniently located to the train station and all the local bus route stops and is a short stroll to the town center with shopping and eateries. I would recommend this place to everyone and would definitely stay again!

Don't think twice about booking to stay here, it is an outstanding B & B and you wont be disappointed!.
Jackie is a wonderful hostess and nothing is too much trouble, from her personnalised directions to local attractions, to her super strong coffee that no one else we have stayed with has ever got right.
We will deffo stay with her again on our next trip to Cornwall.
