“Top Notch - stayed all over the world, and this is first class.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2011

You cannot fault the hospitality, and as this place has been up and running for 8yrs now, they've got it down to a fine art. What freedom we had, from our own front door key to being able to walk down into the town to some great eating places, the station was a 10min walk and a short drive to the Eden project and The Gardens of Helligan. We would definately go back.

Room Tip: The red room was top class.

This has to be the best B&B we have ever stayed in. We arrived after a horrendous drive, the kettle was on in moments, so that we could have coffee!
Room was huge, well furnished and equipped, comfortable bed, good en suite.
Liked the concept that you order breakfast the night before, and specify time. Good if you have to be somewhere. Good choice of food, good quality, well cooked and presented.
Absolutely NOTHING was too much trouble.

Room Tip: Book!!

We stayed here for 3 nights primarily to visit Eden and Heligan. The B&B is situated between these two attractions in St Austell. It is only a few minute walk into town to get an evening meal at one of the eating establishments.

On arrival we were offered a hot drink and shown to our room (the green room). Jackie is a warm host and she explained about the B&B and about how to get the most from from our visit very clean. The room was very bright and airy and the king-size bed very comfortable. The breakfast was also very good and we enjoyed free-range eggs. Very tasty indeed!

All in all, one of the best B&B's we have stayed at and we would definitely recommend the Gwyndra House to our friends and family.

Comfortable, clean and affordable B&B conveniently situated next to railway and bus station. Would recommend stay for easily accessible trips to Eden project and Lost Gardens of Heligan. If you haven't been to the Eden project it is well worth a visit.
Dry, secure storage for motorcycles.

Not only is this charming place ideally located - a few minutes walk into St Austell town centre, right by the bus and train station for visiting Eden Project or surrounding areas. We even ventured down to the coast (a reasonable 30min walk and a £3 taxi back after a lovely seafood dinner!)
But it also has gloriously comfortable rooms (a good pressure shower too) and the tastiest breakfast i've had in a long time.
Very reasonable prices and the local knowledge and sheer friendlyness of owner Jackie is priceless.
We'd definitely go back!

Room Tip: The green room has a beautiful wooden king sz bed!

It would be very difficult to find a better B & B. Jackie gave us a warm welcome and lots of useful advice. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. It was a real bonus to have two easy chairs to relax in - something most hotels fail to provide. The breakfasts were superb - Jackie even provided breakfast at 6.45 am before our early train home. Gwyndra is 2 minutes from the railway/bus station with frequent local buses to Eden Project, Heligan, Mevagissey, Newquay, Fowey etc
