“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

What a truly lovely place to visit, although it was October and therefore not the best time for flowers and veg it was still a delight to walk around the various areas. I think the £10 entrance fee is extremely good value for money. I chatted to a couple of the gardeners and they were cheerful and friendly and very imformative.

Didn't try the restaurant as it was packed and unfortunately the farm shop was closed for stock-taking the day I went. However I will certainly go back at another time of year to see it all again.

“A wonderful experience”

We enjoy the peace and quiet as well as the plants, trees and wildlife. There is also the bonus of soup in the cafe plus Victoria Sponge cake to take away.

“Give yourself time for this wonderful place - we should be glad they found them again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 12, 2012

Ranging from formal, walled vegetable gardens to wild valleys and exotic (for Britain) flora, Heligan is a real treasure. If available, take a guided tour - we went with Bob who was a mine of information about the plants, the history and the personalities associated with this wonderful site. Give yourself a day - it'll take you that sort of time to explore the 'Jungle' with its deep pools, the Lost Valley with its charcoal burners and deep woodland trails and the more formal gardens with glasshouses and ( a must-see) pineapple houses. The garden centre and gift and book shop are comprehensively stocked without having any of the rather glitzy, naff goods that some centres insist on stocking. The cafe/restaurant is worth visiting whether or not you are 'doing' the gardens as well. There is also a very well appointed farm shop immediately adjacent to the gardens reception area.

“wonderfull”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 11, 2012

This is a great day out, some great sculptures dotted around.
The jungle is a strenues walk round so only for the fit.
it doe depend on you fitness level as to what you do and where you go.
There are other parts to see on the one level, the italian gardens are nice with all the flowers in bloom and they have a tea room where after the jungle a nice cuppa is a must.
It is a great day out and v.f.m.
