“Five star staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 9, 2014

Had a lovely three night stay at this hotel, on a bed and breakfast basis. Had a sea view, which is well worth it. The room was lovely and clean, when checked in, had a phone call to see if the room was acceptable. I explained that it was a bit cold, and they brought up a heater within ten minutes. Had a few problems connecting to the wifi, and had help in minutes too. All staff were very friendly, and the service was excellent, I would go as far to say this is the best service I have ever experienced in the UK, would definitely return to this hotel. Had a very relaxing stay, could highly recommend it. Probably the only complaint would be that the walls between the rooms are a bit thin. You can hear most if what other are saying in the next room

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room and get a sea view

Highly recommended. This is an excellent hotel all round. Helpfulness and politeness of the staff is one of the best I have come across. We had an inland facing room which could not be faulted. Fine weather was a bonus.

Room Tip: You will not be disappointed if you go for an inland facing room

Me and my parter spent 2 days here and couldn't of asked for a better experience. Excellent room (deluxe suite with sea view), the meals were always delicious, the staff were always happy to assist you and we got engaged after a champagne breakfast in the room. Highly recommended.

We had our wedding breakfast and evening reception at the Carlyon Bay and I stayed for three nights.

When we arrived the manager was extremely helpful and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay.

The day before the wedding I enjoyed a complementary treatment in the spa, which was a really nice touch to make you feel special before your wedding day…and the ladies in the spa were lovely.

Our room was a sea facing one. Not the biggest room I've stayed in, but really nicely done, amazing views… and there was a large walk in type wardrobe for me to hang my wedding dress…very handy!

My family and I had a meal in the restaurant the night before the wedding. The meal I had was quite salty, especially the potatoes, so a bit less salt and it would have been perfect!

The breakfast was really lovely and there was a good choice of options. The cooked breakfast was really well cooked and not too greasy. The hotel also arranged an early room service breakfast on the day of the wedding as myself and the bridesmaids had to leave early for the hairdressers.

We were able to give our guests a choice of options for the food on the day, which was nice and the food was served efficiently and was really lovely. Especially the chocolate hazelnut torte!

The staff at the hotel could not have been more welcoming. If we needed anything they were happy to accommodate. From sorting a table for our family meal the night before the wedding to assisting with names of suppliers and arranging rooms for our guests they were always happy to help.

Just a small suggestion, if you could label the evening buffet trays it would be useful for the guests that have dietary requirements.

A big thank you to everyone at Carlyon Bay for making our wedding so special and perfect.

You made us feel at home and many of our guests commented on what a lovely time they had at the hotel.

We decided to getaway for a few days and we are glad we chose this hotel. The welcome we received was a friendly and professional and set the standard for our stay. Our room on the third floor was a corner room with a sea view, comfortable and clean. We asked for feather pillows before we left home and they were in place when we arrived. All our meals were exceptional with many wines not being overly expensive, although the wine list is extensive and prices can reach £250....
Breakfast is one of those meals that can disappoint - but not here. All items were freshly cooked and scrambled eggs that were the best we have had in any hotel. The chef said that when they started to get too firm they were replaced with fresh. Spa staff helpful and excellent in their skills.
Didn't get a chance to try the 18 hole but chipped around the approach course while my wife had a massage - a bit of fun.

Brilliant service and staff for whom nothing was too much trouble.

We will return!!!!!!!!

All the Brend Hotels are good ,but Carlyon Bay ticks all the boxes.
As a four day week golfer, I never play golf when I come here with my wife!!(53 Anniversary) Though the course is lovely.
All the staff are excellent, courteous & genuinely seem very happy , The rooms especially those with a sea view are very comfortable...we did have a connecting door on this occasion but no problem.
The spa & pool facilities are again excellent .
Finally Breakfast & the evening meal really were first class ,superior in fact than most of the other Brend Hotels.
We will go again & again.

Room Tip: Sea view if possible

The hotel is lovely and staff (largely)so helpful. It is clean and the spa and pool great but make sure you don't book a room with an interconnecting door! We stayed for 2 nights and on the second night the person next door snored all night, we had no sleep. What was worse was that when I mentioned it to the receptionist the next morning the night duty porter smiled and turned away to make faces at the member of staff behind him which I thought was totally unprofessional. We paid £360 for the room which is not cheap and I would have expected an apology or warning that you have a room with a door between you and next door. They did offer to move us but we were going home that day.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are lovely but without an interconnecting door!
