“Fantastic Chinese food in Cornwall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Had a big family gathering at this restaurant and were very pleased - food was brilliant - upto the standards of China town. It was speedy and the service was friendly. A real 'find' and we are definitely going back again. Very good value for the full buffet. Quite a few rules and regs but that's only because they don't want to chuck out loads of wasted food - good on 'em.

“Great buffet!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

Excellent value for money buffet - had a great meal with several friends. The restaurant was quite quiet when we visited so lacked atmosphere but food could not be faulted! Definitely worth a visit!

“Happy Chinese food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2013

We picked Chinese food over Indian next door and very glad we did! What drew me in was the happy lights.
We started with tiger beers and Thai pancakes(spring rolls) and ordered two dishes to share.
Singapore noodles(medium hot) and spicy sticky chicken, both very good! Also added egg fried rice.
The service was professional and very good. My chair was pulled out, beer and water poured for me before empty, recommended dishes and was just overall so great. The atmosphere is clean and decorated in the familiar Chinese style. We did not go with the buffet and most of the bad reviews seem to be related to that but don't let that steer you away from trying this place.
I will be happy to return.

“disappointing!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2013

2 prices for buffet, so if you want duck, seafood you pay more by £3.00. Since when does childhood end age 8!!! Don't order a sizzling dish unless you want to pay an extra pound to heat up the tray. And leave 500 grams on the plates and they will charge you £5.00 extra. A part from that you were left to paranoid to enjoy.

“Cantonese in Cornwall”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

This restaurant seemed popular as by the time we were mid meal it was very full. The service is fairly quick and they were helpful in advising on dishes fro various tastes.

We sampled King Prawns in Sweet and Sour, the prawns were breaded and very large. A nice selection of green pepper, pineapple etc in the sauce. Also tried the Sizzling Chicken with Garlic and Chili. It is impressive when they bring this on the hot plate and it makes a good noise. It was quite nice with a good hint of the garlic, but mild on the chili.

We also tried the egg fried rice and the Rice Noodles with Vegetables. These were fairly standard to other Cantonese places, the noodles were a good size.

Overall most people would probably enjoy this restaurant, and the prices were not too bad. However, bill was presented with no English as per dishes charged, and the menu featured pictures of food they did not offer. Because I lived in China Town in Toronto for 12 years I found this very typical Anglosized Cantonese - so not to my taste but I am sure average consumer would find it OK.
