We went here on the recommendation of the B&B owner (we should of taken his suggestion of Food for Thought in Fowey instead which we did on the 2nd night) who got us the reservation. Now, he did say this was a more casual restaurant than Food for Thought but that can't excuse the diabolical service.
We arrived about 5 mins early for our reservation at which we were told to go to the bar which was fairly full so there was no room. We were then shown to our table by the head waitress/manager who announced that she would be back with the menus...which came about 10-15 mins later. After deciding what we wanted to eat, we then waited for a waitress to come take our order. However, none of them even bothered looking our way for over 15 minutes as they served tables around us. Finally, we got the attention of one, who incredibly told us that there was only ONE person to take all the orders for probably a 40-50 guest restaurant - this person being the head waitress who we hadn't seen since she dropped the menus off 30 mins ago.
We then saw the head waitress going up to the bar area to take orders of the people around there before she came to our table another 20 mins later. Since we had been sitting there for nearly an hour we were starving, so we asked for bread after placing our order at which point we incredulously told that, "you get bread with your starter". We then questioned why they had bread plates set if we weren't going to get any bread, for which the answer was "bread comes with some starters".
So after waiting approximately 1.5 hours after we first arrived we finally got our food which was overcooked and awful. The scallops may have been fresh but you can't tell when they've been grilled into biscuits, fishes were dry, paellas were bland and salty - this was possibly the worst advertisement for seafood in Cornwall imaginable.
Definitely avoid this place at all costs.
