We had a day trip to Mevagissey from St Mawes on an amazing sunny day and we were expecting there to be more lunch options in the town. We saw a sign on the harbour for Trevalsa Court which said 10 mins walk around the headland and we decided to take a chance.
The hotel is a stunning 1930s building with large gardens an amazing views down to the sea. We sat outside and were one of only two tables there that day - we both ordered crab and saffron risotto which took a while to arrive but was delicious and well worth the wait. We only saw inside the hotel briefly but the dining room was a 1930s oak panelled room straight out of an Agatha Christie. We happened to be staying at the Tresanton for our Cornwall trip but we would definitely look up Trevalsa if we come again.
