made contact with Emma via email months before the booking asking if they I could have Lobster Thermidor. Brett (Chef de Patron) suggested his Special, a Lobster Platter for Two, to which I agreed. My wife had never had lobster and was keen to try and this was going to be a special surprise for her birthday.
We had a table of four booked and on arrival where greeted by Emma, who impressed me by using my and Wife's names in a very warm greeting and asking if we would like a drink before dinner. Her and her Team guided us through the starters (The main course already reserved and ready) there knowledge of the menu was brilliant.
Our starters were out of this world, but our Main Course "Special Lobster Platter", which all four of us had, was absolutely the most exquisite combination of styles and techniques I've ever eaten in one course. You need to see the picture to understand the lavish style and presentation. Left to Right - Smoked Lobster Bisque, Lobster Chowder with Baileys, Lobster Claw (made to look like Fish, Chips and Mushy Peas) Lobster Risotto, Lobster Thermidor. Top - Lobster Cannelloni.
The meal was brilliantly orchestrated by Emma and her Team of Waiters were wonderfully attentive but never obtrusive. In the display Kitchen Brett could be seen preparing the meals, a trust master at his art of culinary delights. We had a fantastic evening, everyone enjoyed every mouth watering bit and delight.
We never had a dessert, which all looked so mouth wateringly wonderful. We were all content with the Lobster Platter. The Fudge with Coffee was lovely and soft and the surprise sparkler, which would have been on a dessert was craftily bought to the table by Emma.
I would truly recommend Austells Restaurant to anyone who loves lovely food and wonderful ambiance and fantastic service second to none. A true place of wonderful service and brilliant culinary skills. I will definitely be eating there again.
