“Best roast in the village”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2013

I go to the st Agnes hotel often for a drink. But I make a point of regularly going for a Sunday roast, the beef is always nice and rare, they don't mind giving you crackling and there are always enough roasties!
It is nearly as good as mine, but much less washing up.
Bill the landlord is really friendly and a good laugh, and there is plenty of outdoor seating to watch the world go by.

“Slow slow service”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2013 via mobile

Went here after walking to the beach and back, and we fancied a cream tea for our family group of four. We chose to sit inside, as the limited outdoor seating is right next to the road, which is okay for drinking, but we didn't fancy eating that close to the traffic.

The interior decor is old, probably authentic, and dimly lit. However there is a contemporary dining area, and the itself is spacious.

We ordered 2 cream teas and 2 cold drinks. Whilst the food itself was good, it was a little overpriced. However, the main criticism and reason for my low score review is that the crockery and cups weren't properly cleaned, and that we waited for 15 to 20 minutes for x2 cream teas. Essentially thats boiling a kettle and putting cream and jam into a pot. We were the only people in the pub during that wait. No idea what the staff were doing during that time, but they appeared to be more interested in chatting amongst themselves and updating their Facebook statuses. No apology for the long wait when the food arrived.

“Very average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Staff very friendly and accommodating for children, but food was disappointingly average. Sorry, we won't be returning.

“Great evening at St Agnes Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

Fantastic warm welcome from 'Bill'! We booked over the phone, there were 8 of us and they were able to fit us in and a time convenient to us!1 Service was outstanding and food was very good and wholesome. Good selection of wines! We had two children in our party and these were very well catered for. we all enjoyed it very much.
