We visited the Geevor Tin Mine on a cold but sunny day in January. It was quiet which added a sobering effect to the emptiness of the once busy mine. The tour of the mill and actual mine workings was incredibly interesting. The journey down into the mine, wearing our hard hats and knocking into the wet walls was quite an eye opener. The excellent guide took us through very early mine workings, through to later mining tunnels. It gave a real insight into the cramped conditions that miners work in. 'The Dry' was rather eerie, with lockers, clothes and boots left behind on the day the mine closed.
I'd certainly recommend a visit to the Geevor Tin Mine. 10 out of 10.
