“Nice hotel with great views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

We stayed 2 nights at the Polurrian Bay Hotel in August through a Travelzoo offer. The price we paid for the room was good, but accommodation was a little basic. We upgraded our room for one with a sea view, which was quite special and somewhat made up for the basicness of the room.
The food was good and included in the room price which made it all the more attractive, the wine was a little pricey though.
The staff were very helpful and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
There were a lot of families with young children staying, which was nice to see, they were all well behaved kids which is maybe a reflection of the type of people that stay there, and I didn't find it detracted from staying as a couple, as so often can be the case with out of control kids screaming and running about!
The spa facilities didn't quite live up to expectation.
Wifi reception was not fantastic in our room or elsewhere in the hotel.
For the price we paid through Travelzoo and location it was worth it and we would consider staying again.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view! Good place to stay with nice kids!

Thank you for taking time out to post a review following your recent stay with us. It's good to know that you enjoyed your stay and in particular your choice of sea view room. We recently connected to High Speed Internet (CTTC) and are working to ensure connectivity/signal issues are improved. Booked this hotel in the last minute for our trip to cornwall. The sea views from our rooms are so beautiful. There was a wedding taking place the day we stayed. The bride was very nice and she invited all the residents to share the wedding cake with them. We also enjoyed the wonderful live jazz band for the wedding reception in the evening. Since we only stayed for one night, so we didn't get a chance to fully explore the surrounding area and to use the gym and spa. Definitely will revisit the hotel again and stay for a few days to chill out.

We have 2 dogs and normally book a cottage however we saw a offer on travel zoo and booked. The receptionist was so friendly n helpful , things looked good . This is only our personnel opinion . Can not fault the location , great for walking , quiet location , beautiful walks . There is no bar ! Although the staff were mostly very friendly n prompt we would prefer a bar . The food n service in the restaurant was lovely but you have to book and we felt pressure to get there , we ate in the lounge on our first night because we did not want a time restriction. Extremely clean and lovely rooms , bathrobes n elemis products a wonderful luxury . We stayed 4 nights and have both agreed 3 would have been perfect . I think we will go back because of the location , rooms and walks .

Thank you for taking time to post a review following your recent visit to the hotel. We are pleased that you enjoyed your stay and using us as a base from which to walk. The hotel was operating at close to full capacity during your visit hence our encouragement for residents to book tables in advance. Thank you again for your kind comments and I hope we will see you again at some time in the future.

Stayed here for one night although would have loved to stay longer, the location of the hotel amazing right on the cliffs with a beautiful terrace to watch the sunset. The hotel restaurant is a little pricy but the food is superb. Rooms are immaculate with a lovely large bathroom and great views. The beach just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel gardens is beautiful and the costal paths nearby provide some amazing views. Cream teas are delicious!

The only comment I would make is that the table service from bar staff was slow but I wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms will not disappoint

Having just returned from a very mini break to the Polurrian Bay, it is hard to find praise enough for this splendid hotel. The previous contributors have all raved about the attributes that this hotel has to offer and I can only endorse all that has been written.

Superb setting, wonderful views, but most impressive is the hotel which has been transformed in recent years to its present wonderful condition. Facilities are excellent with everything from a heated indoor pool , mini cinema, childrens' play room, and so much more, especially for the "grown -ups" ! Wonderful rooms where you can just sit and enjoy the breath taking views or perhaps relax with your favourite novel in blissful peace and quiet. If you feel more active, there is an excellent all weather tennis court and of course plenty of coastal walks on the doorstep.

Food was excellent, staff courteously friendly, and despite being very hard to please, I could find no fault . My wife was amazed, but she agreed wholeheartedly with me!

Thank you to all at the Polurrian Bay Hotel, we have already booked to come again!

My husband and I have just returned from a fabulous weeks break in Mullion. We past the Polurrian hotel whilst walking the south coastal path and popped in for a cream tea. The cream
tea was delicious and the hotel is in a fabulous location. However, the welcome is not so warm if you are are wearing walking boots...

Thank you for your kind review after popping in from your walk on the South West coastal path. We are glad you enjoyed Jorge's scones and were sorry you felt walking boots were an issue for us as we are more than pleased to keep your boots dry inside the front hall if ever needed. I do hope we will see you again next time you are on our stretch of the path.

My partner and I returned yesterday from a 2 night break and had a wonderful stay at this delightful hotel. We could not fault the food, staff and gorgeous views, in fact all were way above our expectations! Our room was very comfortable, the gorgeous Elemis products a bonus, and we were upgraded to a seaview room free of charge (maybe because it was my partner's 60th birthday?!). We had a lovely walk down to the hotel's own private beach which was almost deserted then walked back to the hotel via the village, a delightful walk. The hotel seems very geared towards families, but as we stayed out of the school holidays there were not many children staying there. We hope to return in the not too distant future!
