“Sunday lunch - nice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 29, 2013

We have been holidaying in Mullion twice a year, over the past five years, and usually pay the Old Inn a visit. This time, we were pleased to see Sunday lunch at two for £12. Very good value for the cost. The meat was nicely cooked and plentiful. One small criticism might be that the veg, although very tasty, was packed in to one serving dish and was a little messy to transfer to plate. The pub is very dog friendly, with some areas designated as dog free. Would recommend booking to ensure a suitable table. Looking forward to our next visit in March 2014.

Booked two nights ....fri and sat. On arrival was informed by the manager that the room had been booked for thur and fri night....therefore they were full the Saturday and we could not stay the two nights. Manager blamed a member of staff that had since left but had probably done it on purpose, apparently he had double booked someone else that week too. Manager apologised but all seemed a little forced / false. Manager said he would find us somewhere else to stay.... Came back a few mins later telling us there was a place 3 miles away that was nice, served good food etc that had a twin room....clearly not acceptable for a young couple!! We declined and said we would find our own accom for the sat night. My boyfriend requested some sort of compensation due to us having to rearrange etc. we were offered a free meal but had already eaten. Boyfriend requested some free drinks at the bar, the manager accepted but clearly was not happy. We made the most of this.. As any young couple would!! Room was ok, bed not comfortable and tv from the 90s! Over run with unneccassary furniture. Breakfast was nice, saving grace! We felt awkward and the staff were unwelcoming. Manager continued with forced niceness.... We thanked him before we left and he again offered to find us somewhere to stay even though I clearly stated to him we had found somewhere for our next stay. Very strange place....the next place we stayed....the cold streamer near Penzance was absolutely superb in comparison for very similar price.

We ate here after a long day sightseeing and were glad to receive good portions and quality food. This pub had a nice atmosphere and good character. The service was good and the prices were good value. We would recommend and return if in the area again.

We had booked two rooms last week for 3 nights but on arrival we found out that we would only need the rooms for 2nights as our business would finish early. We asked the gentlemen if we could reduce the stay when we checked in so he had plenty of time to re sell the rooms but he was very unhelpful and said he would ask his boss. On checking out the manager would not reduce the price and was very rude indeed. We only used one room for 1 night and the other for 2 nights.
The rooms were very tired and uncomfortable and the shower just stopped working at any time.
The staff were very sullen apart from one in the Restaurant and did not make you feels welcome at all. We also heard at least 2 phone calls asking for rooms and they said that they were fully booked so they had no intention of re selling the room.

Room Tip: I would not stay again

We were staying in million and ventured into the little village for a bite to eat, we popped into this friendly lovely pub and enjoyed our meals so much we came back the following evening to sample the duck, well what can I say, even though it was very very busy, they said to us to take a seat and they would call us in 10 minutes, which they did, we haven't a bad word to say about this quaint little pub, thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the friendliness of all the staff.
Didn't want to leave

Firstly let me say didn't actually stay here. Couldn't stay here even though we had booked..... Double Booked. Firstly the Manager told me I had booked it for the following week. Then I found the email acknowledgment proving I had booked the right date which was shown to the manager. Then he changed the story and then blamed Laterooms.com. He did offer to find us other accommodation but we found our own. We won't try booking again. What a waste petrol.

My wife and I stayed here on the weekend of 6th July
We were a little disappointed with the reception we received upon arrival as the pub wasn't busy.
The room was very nice with a small en-suite and dual aspect windows overlooking gardens and the kitchen roof.
Beer was good with choices of real ales from St Austell Brewery
Food was fine
Overall a comfortable stay, friendly staff and well situated for the coastal path.

Room Tip: Number 5 on the top floor (double) was fine
